Freeman's Body Count

He kills two Gargantuas, not one.

Yeah, Freeman has nothing on Simo Häyhä.

He does if we're going for kills per unit time. FM takes place over a few ambiguously timed days at most.

Still, he isn't the most deadly even by that measure since there are bomber pilots such as Paul Tibbets. Probably some WW1 machine gunners that can measure up too, if you're going for infantry combat.

So Freeman has a body count of 174 people so that means he would be one of the biggest mass murderers in history the disturbing part is there are still a few in real life that have him beat.

Not really, I think the majority of his kills are justifiable homicides in self defense. I would argue almost all are, but if you wanted to give the soldiers the complete benefit of the doubt, you would have to count every kill where a soldier has fired his weapon at him FIRST as justifiable homicide and everything else as a murder. There are iffier situations where the soldier laid a trap, but you're not sure which one. (like the pipe explosion trap).

 

EDIT: You could go farther and argue every soldier point his gun AT Freeman could count, given his circumstances thus far.

Either way Gordon would definitely have some serious mental issues but on a legal note could he be classified as a combatant?

Given the competence shown by the HECU during FM, these people might not have been the brightest of the bunch. I'll still count them as one because I don't know how many people are in there. The Osprey in particular works like a clown car if you don't shoot it down IIRC. Anyway he only kills a couple so it is not like it makes a huge difference.

Technically speaking, a Bradley would have a crew of 3 and may or may not be carrying a squad of 7 soldiers (max). Since none of the ones that Freeman fought had any troops come out the back, it seems reasonable to count each Bradley as three kills.

Abrams tanks have a crew of 4, but technically we don't know that everyone inside died, especially since Abrams tanks are designed to direct the force of the explosion away from the crew in the event of an ammo detonation (which is what is portrayed in Freeman's Mind.) However, since the turrets on all of them did blow up, that's at least two kills right there (commander and gunner.)

Ospreys have a flight crew of... four, I think? I believe they carry 32 soldiers max, so that could be as many as 36 soldiers from that one kill.

That's only if they were loaded standing-only... The likelihood is quite high that they would've only had 24, (and were all seated) considering their extra equipment and the time between drops of troops.

I had nothing to do today so I decided to make a list of Freeman's kills. This may not actually be accurate in any way, since it is just manual labor. However, Freeman kept wondering how many counts of self defense with an automatic weapon he could still justify, and now he knows how to prepare his lawsuit.

 

I found another thread that did this here already, but it hadn't been updated in almost a year. I thought I'd make a new thread rather than necroing that one. If that's frowned upon I hope a mod can merge the threads.

- The tanks, Apaches and the Osprey destroyed have a combined unit cost of about 135 million dollars.

- Freeman is the most deadly in episode 49, with 44 kills, followed by episode 9 with 35 kills and then episode 59 with 32
