This is pretty damn cool, I'm really curious how this will change things:

Normal processors already are multi-layered, but only a few levels deep without as many interconnects as what this is. The difference here could be between a stack of pancakes on top of each other v. a Borg cube.

I've read about this as well, should be pretty awesome if it's as good as they say it is. But with the near monopoly ARM has over the mobile market, Intel has a long way to go.

Even though the landscape is shifting, I generally don't care about mobile devices and am just interested in the desktop, where this makes the most difference. I don't think ARM processors are moving into desktop turf anytime soon.

Seeing as I don't even have a cell phone, mobile processors aren't my greatest priority either. But the market would certainly change if Intel successfully moves into the mobile market as well. "There's gonna lot of trickling down to research and development".

I own a cellphone, but not one of those "smartphones". My 5 years old phone makes calls, that is all I need a cellphone for.

I read about this a while ago, cool stuff. The simple minded will however not care. all they want to see are big GHz numbers.
