Some of those I played, but I have something weird, that, if I play the sequel to another game and it's good, I don't really like the first in the series (except Half Life). For instance, Borderlands, Loved the second one, biased about the first one. Thanks for the recommendations! If you have others let me know

Super Mario Brothers series (ending at Super Mario World)

Does that include World, or not? Does it also include the Lost Levels?

X-COM series

All of them?

Man, you must spend way too much time playing games if you beat all those and have more that you aren't showing. How much time do you have on your hands? This a legit question, BTW.

Yes and yes. (the 'lost levels' were released long before SMB3 was)

Yes, all of them.

When unemployed, and have already applied everywhere, you don't have anything else to do except play games. Usually somewhere between 40 and 80 hours a week.

They are nowhere near difficult... Remarkably easy, especially on anything below the hardest difficulty. (you just have to be a good planner, and plan for the missions before you do them)

More often than not, all day... Bear in mind that a 40 hour week means 8 hours per day for 5 days, and I usually get 8-10 hours of empty per day for 6 days, then another 4-6 in the evening on 3-4 days of the week.

It requires features from the graphics expansion module, and there is currently no way to emulate it. Reason: why build code to emulate some really complex hardware that is required for only one game ever? (I know, someone should do it anyways)

Already did long ago before this thread :) . However, my PC is not the best when it comes to games, so I stick with 2006 below (Although I CAN actually run some newer games). Actually, some of the games on my list are not really ones I want to play, they are acutally games I haven't beaten yet (System Shock 2 for example). Also, I wanted to get into the Strategy games genre, is Starcraft a good game to start? If not, what game is good to get into that genre?

I would recommend Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Civilization, and Age of Empires if you wanted to get into strategy games.

Command & Conquer series, (one of the biggest successes in strategy game history until EA bought Westwood Studios) and Starcraft series (really a sci-fi venue for strategy games) as well.

If you want, you can even fairly easily mod C&C Generals... I have a half finished mod to allow the laser general to have an orbital insertion power with laser armed infantry. (and it was balanced at one point too)

Something we can both agree on! :P

I've never been able to get into any C&C games past Red Alert 1.

That is still my favorite of the series, even if my current computer refuses to run it properly.

Honestly though, C&C 4 is fun, but it just doesn't belong in the C&C series as a direct successor to the strategy genre that the series has been historically. It could quite easily be set as a RTSRPG side-type in-universe game like Renegade was. (and it's really too bad they never made a sequel to Renegade)
