People try to say that Battlefield has the largest scale of multiplayer gaming. They also say that Battlefield 3 is going to have some of the biggest maps EVER made in multiplayer gaming. Imagine a game with 150-200 players per server. This game has most if not all of the features Battlefield had or has. Tanks, Jeeps, heloes of many types, etc. Not too much of a steep learning curve, no insane realism (which has destroyed gaming) and many more things to it. Guess what! There is! Maybe it is an older game (2004) but it's still one of the best multiplayer games out there that many people still play. It's called Joint Ops.

The reason I throw this out there is for people to understand what REAL large scale online gaming is. If you decide to buy a copy, add me on NovaWorld. My alias is "Digital Ghost". It's a great team game much like Battlefield is. I would be happy to help you get used to the game and get you in my squad.

Looks like a semi-modern version of what Xenocell is aiming for...

Yeah but this is a modern day warfare game much like Battlefield, but better!

Well I think Planetside was the winner for large scale FPS gaming in 2003, with being able to have potentially thousands of players on one server. They're working on a sequel I believe, but I believe that one will have a monthly fee as well.

I read about that. NovaLogic tried to claim Joint Ops being the largest FPS game and Planetside as well as WWII online noted this as inaccurate. I still think gameplay makes the bigger aspect of it. Modern warfare with 150 (or 200) people per server is insane and that doesn't compare to any other games (in terms of gameplay). Nice that you throw that out there, maybe I should check it out.
