ROSS’S GAME DUNGEON: THE SECRET WORLD

Welcome to the 11th hour grand Halloween episode! I have to say, doing this episode in the timeframe I had really tore a chunk out of me. This came really close to not getting made in time and I’ve been working just about nonstop since the last episode. This is definitely a very Halloween episode, I doubt I’ll have anything this much in the spirit of it next year. My brain is a bit fried at the moment as I’ve been awake for a significant amount of time.

It may be a while before the next Game Dungeon, I haven’t had anything close to a free day in at least 2 months. While I think the push I did these past couple months has really changed my life forever due to how much you’ve helped. Thanks again to everyone who has helped with that, I feel like you guys have my back more than Youtube ever did. Unfortunately, this pace I pushed on myself really isn’t sustainable and I’m going to need some real time to recover. I still need to figure out what I’m doing next, but I plan to make the video chats the next priority (and reply to people) once I’ve recovered some. Have a Happy Halloween!

There's one award that I think suits this game: "Encyclopedia of References" The Lovecraft influences, that and the many games you mentioned fits the bill, but it fits well with the game's theme.

Welp, now what?

Fantastic as usual, Ross! The longer episodes are fantastic, even with my final exams coming up.

If you're ever in need of any Steam games please feel free to message me, I'm happy to donate games because unfortunately I can't donate otherwise.

"This is not going to be a thorough review" ... 39:38 minutes ... lol

Glad you are taking some time off by the way.

That release schedule of the last few videos was insane, not that I am complaining though.

I am just a little afraid for your mental health and stuff, as more then a weekly release schedule is rare for a reason for videos as well produced as yours.

Love the Dungeon videos and the Halloween episode is a real highlight again.

Stayed up for it to go up (its 6:16 am at my place) and am delighted!

lol ross you always release a bunch of videos at the end of the year then take a long break :) you do it every year silly.

You're definitely a halloween person haha (I am too tbh). I am honestly interested in the game though, the main reason I don't like most MMOs is because the quest system seems so flat and boring... although it's a shame they overdid how intricate the puzzle are... as well as the shit combat system... Maybe when I was in highschool I could have had time to grind for this game but I can't do it anymore :( spend all my time IRC'ing...

Great episode as always

and i watched your video, i'd get that candy now :P

But no, you are indeed right about this bad practise... Hm, perhaps we should start suing those companies promising "play forever" when they effectively shut game down few months later.

Jack O'Neill: "You know Teal'c, if we dont find a way out of this soon, im gonna lose it. Lose it... it means go crazy. nuts. insane. bonzo. no longer in possession of ones faculties. 3 fries short of a happy meal. WACKO!!!!!!!!"

Short Dungeons punctuated by a good long one like this kinda works for me. I dunno if that would be something you'd want to keep doing yourself, though.

Loved the bit about other reviewers too. You, unlike countless others on YT, know how to engage the audience. Maybe it's because you actually know how to use your voice.

The sheer awesomeness of Game Dungeon notwithstanding, I can't help but worry about The Movie. You obviously put so much effort in GD that I'm afraid it's not making as much progress as it could.

And please, don't get yourself worn out like that. We need you fresh and snarky, even if that means less videos per time unit.

I love the End Ross

So she wasnt in Lima or in Caracas she was in the inner core

“Error 482: Somebody shot the server with a 12-gauge. Please contact your administrator”

“Caution Laser Caution Laser Caution Laser”

“I can now solve up to 800 problems a minute”

"I got my degree under the tutelage of Dr. Pepper."

Loved the episode - righteous as always, Ross!

I gave up on MMOs a while ago so I've never even heard about this game until now, but it seems like it's something I would enjoy given it got hacked into single player \ I could run my own private server with modded values. It seems really rich and I would be kind of sad if I could never experience it on my on terms. Your pick for "somebody crack this" award absolutely nailed it.

The only MMO I've ever played that really sucked me in the way an MMO is supposed to is Runescape. (Circa 2005-2008ish.) More than anything it was because it had a world that seemed alive, detailed and interesting, and I wanted to explore and experience all of it.

I think shameful number of MMO's would have made for excellent singleplayer games if balanced and personalized a bit.

I tried this game for a while and gave up when I became totally confused with combat steering at the -training - (I went with the Templars too). Yes, the training stage. After watching the review I really want this game to have the combat system fixed. I hate turn based combat and I dislike slow combat as well. So I hope for a very concrete solution because I love well developed story and characters.

If they made the character creation a bit more varied, that would help too. I wasn't happy how all female faces looked so I went with a male one, at least I had something pretty to look at...

I have to say I like the longer episodes Ross. I like RPGs but the only MMO i've tried is Guild Wars II only after a friend of mine got me to buy it. I did it because there was no subscription but I only played it a couple times a week for a few months before I learned to pretty much not like MMORPGs because of the combat grind. It's slow, non-immersive to me and monotonous, even with my friend beside me doing the same thing and we're chatting on skype. I liked the exploration but the combat made it pretty un-enjoyable for me.

Loved the episode though and if this game was a single player without all the grind I'd be interested in it.

I may have fibbed. I did install WoW a few years ago and played the trial. I didn't know anyone who played then so I was pretty much alone in the game and it didn't take me long to quit the game entirely. I couldn't get into the play or combat then so I never became interested in other MMORPGs. I guess I thought GW2 would be different because I had a friend to play with but ... nope. Just give me a single player, first person game and I'm good!

Keep up the great vids Ross!

I loved what Ryzom tried to do, where there were no classes or respecs and you just got good at the skills you used, and basically all gear was player crafted except the tools for harvesting the base level resources. Pity the game was/is bog standard. I might fiddle with it again just to check out the lore.

Did anyone here ever play Atitd?
