I'm scared of getting ME3 now because of all the flak it got for its ending, is it really that bad?

Think Deus Ex: Human Revolution bad (At least that's what I've been told that it is).

Edit: Got Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for the 360. Basically Assassin's Creed 2 but better refined and with even more shit to faff about with.

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

I mean a "Your previous choices are completely irrelevant and the ending is decided by a button press at the end" bad.

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

Please base your opinions on your own experience rather than "what you've heard". I didn't think the ending to Deus Ex HR was bad.

I think he just means that it ultimately didn't matter in the end what you did in the game, and that he didn't particularly like that.

And I'm not saying anything until I've actually played ME3.

Same here, though I love to see spoilers... It oddly makes the game more fun for me.

Your overall gameplay does change Adam's monologue at the end, hence why DX:HR have 12 endings, and IMO all of them are really good. But i heard your overall gameplay in Mass Effect: 3 does affect the ending sequence based on your "military strenght" or something like that. So i guess if mass effect was a game focused on the gameplay or with balance between gameplay and story, people wouldnt be complaining about the ending, but the entire "all your decisions affects everything" are the big appeal of the Mass Effect series (its even in the title of the game) so i can see where all the hate is coming from. (still, i think people are exaggerating.)

On Topic:I got Saints Row: the third...talk about dissapointing endings. Still, fun to mess around.

The future of gaming lies in realistic simulations of extraordinary realities

Fallout 1. Got that a while back but only just started playing it. I have to say I was doubtful I would like it considering how old it is and the fact that turn based combat and myself are not on friendly terms. But dear God Fallout 1 is good. Either I'm not as repelled by isomorphic turn based gameplay as I previously thought or the rest of the game is so good it compensates for it. Bottom line is I haven't been this hooked on a single player RPG since the likes of Mass Effect, Deus Ex HR and Fallout 3/NV.

For me it goes-

Fallout NV = Fallout 2 > Fallout 1 > Fallout Tactics: BOS (didn't like the combat only focus of this one) > Fallout 3.

Originally I like FO3, but after playing NV and the originals I just couldn't stand it. NV is everything FO3 was except far better done (writing, characters, quests, world etc.) and the originals are fantastically created isometric RPGs with so much more depth and role-playing than their FPS counterparts.

Well considering how Fallout 3 was made by completely different people, I'd say they did a pretty good job. Fallout 3 was the first one I played so it'll always hold a special place in my heart, and besides if it wasn't for Bethesda, the entire franchise might have been dead in the water.

Fallout 2 was the first one I played and to be honest, Fallout 3 was an enormous disappointment in a lot of ways for me. It doesn't even compare to the classic titles.

Maybe Bethesda brought the franchise back but in some ways... it would have been fine as it was...

Some things are better left dead...
