Lol, you just hate Ripper Owens because he is awesome enough to beat Rob at his own game, and is the reason that they're still a damn band in the first place.

Halford is still awesome, but Owens > Halford in terms of skill, and even in the present Ripper can go higher than Halford could even in his prime.

"...plus Tim ain't gay!" - some random dude

Halford did do Resurrection while they were gone, so he almost topped them.

6/10

Actually not much of a fan of JP at all, but I can respect their art. I just think it's miserable how a band with such a strong identity would put out something so bland and derivative.

Haw, Jugulator is one of their best albums, kicks grunge in the ass with it's high vocals and twin guitar attack. Hardly bland and derivative at all, which is a stretch to take seriously, seeing as you admit you don't like them.

Also, you gotta rate the song above you and post a new one, like this:

Now you get TWO songs to rate. Oh goodie.

Ah, a Man of good taste.

also an 9/10 it's pretty great. Nice melody and good vocals, not sacrificed on the altar of aggression.

2018 and Judas Priest still got it. If not for Motorhead, they would be the best metal band of all time.

And speaking of...

I sense a pretty strong Iron Maiden influence with these guys

Falls a bit flat towards the end they bring nothing but raw talent to the table as far as I'm concerned

Yeah, that's because they're both British, and Saxon formed only 2 years after Maiden. I dare say that they're better than Maiden in terms of sheer quality, because if we're being honest, Maiden has made some absolute all filler no killer albums that have blown ass through a straw, yet Saxon have always had this consistently high standard where not one album is better or worse than the rest. If I had to pick a fav it might be Wheels of Steel or Lionheart, but even then that's a stretch.

3.5/5

Catchy and heavy, although I can sense some Grunge in there, so it's not really my tastes.
