What are you listening to?

Recommended Posts

i don't know what is it about music, but sometimes i get the feeling that, i don't belong in this universe, or in this reality

it feels like me being here is all just a giant mistake, and yet here i am, listening to all this awesome music, one click away

anything i want to, whatever i want to, it's there, and i've got endless freedom, i just gotta find the right music for me first - i wonder how people in the ancient ages would feel about this, if you could just listen to anything, anyone, whenever you wanted to, not limited by time, or performance, or however many times you damn wish to listen to a song

man it's so strange, how we have access to these electric metal boxes, and we can listen to whatever music we want, at any time - it's so surreal, we are so lucky to be living in this timeline, and i often feel like i'm not ment to be here, because i feel like i'm seen as odd for even having such thoughts, but man i'm just really grateful for how lucky i am, to not be some medieval farmer, or to not be stuck in some dead beat war

god the future is going to be great, or at least i hope so - sometimes i feel like i should appreciate what i have, way more than i already do

i don't know why i had the urge to say this, but it's just a random thought i had

reality is surreal man, like, we shouldn't exist, but we do - man i wish humanity could get its shit togheter already, the most depressing thought for me is knowing that one day, all of this, will fade away, and it won't even be a memory either, it won't be nothing at all

man, reality sucks, because one day, it'll stop being real :(

man that sounds so annoying, it just sounds like someone who's screwing around with his new synth

even as far as classical music goes, i think this sounds pretty terrible, and if someone played this to me, i would probably beg them to just turn it off

i'm really confused by the YouTube comments, this is either clearly a joke, or this has to be straight up incomplete - the people in the comments just come off as really pretentious, and they use some big words to justify this whole thing

i don't think there's anything clever in making something terrible on purpose, but... people do watch The Room for some reason... and people actually like that movie, for, some reason - i don't understand the internet

all i'm hearing is this really

humans are weird man

I mean, not everything is for everyone, sure. It all boils down to how much tolerance you have for dissonance or even for classical music in general. If it does nothing for you then that's completely fine, but this was written in 1936 and is still being performed and listened to to this day and many people say they've been greatly inspired by it, so please do understand that it's not supposed to be "terrible on purpose" and that people aren't pretending to like it just to look smart. Here's a video that attempts to explain why many people admire Webern's music when it sounds so ugly and meaningless to so many others:

I love classical, but i don't have a deep appreciation for it because I know diddly-dick about music theory.
