My Dad is going to start turning off the internet when he goes to bed (around midnight) so that I can't stay up all night on the computer. He'll change his mind if I get a job, but in this economy, and this late in the summer, and with my acute fear of responsibilities, that doesn't seem like it will happen any time soon.

While I absolutely hate this, I can't say I disagree with him.

Also Steam was being stupid, one of my projects hit a major speedbump, my neighbor is taking her sweet time to get me that game I wanted, and my crush posted on facebook how bored she was last night but I didn't see it because as previously mentioned I didn't have internet.

And I meant to post this hours ago but he also turned off my internet when he left the house. Oh joy.

I can relate, yes.

At the moment my internet is really finnicky. It seems to drop out at random, causing me to log out of MSN and Steam abruptly. It's also really slow and unstable, sometimes just changing web pages can take up to a minute and I can forget playing any multiplayer games online...

I've called my neighbour about it (he's in charge of the wifi) and he said he'd upgrade to a bigger bandwidth this month. Hopefully it will be soon. I have no idea what's causing this though.

My school has cool teachers, but shit students.

I've got the best of both worlds.

I just don't see how that would fit in with Half-Life at all...

That was in another section of the forums that wasn't about Black Mesa, sort of like Gaming in General here.

Finally, weekend. My crush finished elementary school (she is 1 year older than me) so I don't have to face the torture not being able to walk up to her and talk. Feels both good and bad.

I'm an idiot.

When I was like 8 I had a friend with a surname Kuzmanović, and we were making nicknames for him. So,we called him Kuzma/Kuzman,or,kuz.In Serbian,''milking'' [a cow] is said ''muze'',so I started calling him Kuz-muz,moving my hands like I'm milking a cow.

In an unfathomably daft move, the university is drastically downsizing my branch campus.

After nearly a month of silence or obfuscation, I received my "transfer orders."

I am to be transferred to Main Campus (40 minutes away by car, instead of the previous 5. Hello, huge new gasoline expense.)

I will no longer be doing my old job, but am to be a "Clerk typist 2" (basically an administrative secretary.)

I have ZERO clerical training. Therefore it will be nearly impossible for me to do a good job, at least not right away.

My old job description is "irrelevant," according to HR.

In addition to the new gas expense, (Estimated $4000 per year), there will be tolls (amounting to around $650) and parking ($350) per year

This new job comes with a $6000 PAY CUT.I've been told, in essence, "take what we're offering, or have no job at all."

Union has been notified. Storm incoming.

If there WERE any other jobs, I would say "F*** this s***." But there aren't. :x

He just kept talking and talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt it was really quite hypnotic...

No wonder we rank 17th in the world in terms of education. We have politicians who tell us that they want to brainwash our children so they can easily manipulate and oppress them, and we vote for them.

I don't like writer's block, I prefer to call it writer's parry.

I hate teenage love. I hate it when other teenagers think they're in it, I hate what the consequences of such things usually are, and I hate that I am now, at least somewhat, a part of it. This mostly just being my brain torturing me and mocking me about it. What I said wrong, what I did wrong, what I didn't do that I SHOULD'VE done. The whole thing is just an emotional rollercoaster from hell.

*Dad walks into room, can clearly see my computer screen*

Dad: Whatcha doin'?

Me: Nothing, why?

Dad: You're doing something.

Me: Oh, uh, ponies, why?

Dad: Like, an episode, or what?

Me: No, just like this... video thing, why, what did you want?

Dad: You know you don't have to be such an ass.

Me: What? I'm not doing anything important, you don't really need to know exactly what-

Dad: (storms off) It's rude and it's being an asshole.

A minute later my internet goes out.

no job, no car, no girlfriend

sitting on my ass playing solitaire got depressing after the first hour or so anyway.

Solution to the first problem: Find a place that's hiring and print an application and CV

Solution to the second problem: Get a job so you can afford one.

Solution to the third problem: Stop playing solitaire and hang out more. It's the only way to meet people. You will NOT find a girlfriend this way because, well, I don't find it sexy when guys don't wanna do anything about their problems. Only you can fix it.

1.) You honestly don't think I haven't been looking for a job?

2.) See #1.

3.) I'm really not into trying to impress any of the ladies on this forum, and this is the only place I can whine.

I have those problems as well, though I'm in no rush to get a car. Getting a job is not easy, especially in this economy, and getting a girlfriend is hard, especially for internet dwellers. Like Alyxx said, though, get out more. That's hard to do without a job, though, since you meet a lot of people that way, but if you're still in school that's a good way to meet women. If you're in college, try to find a school club that pertains to your interest.

The thing is, I'm 17, and the only places around here who will hire someone who's still in High School are fast food places, and even they aren't taking applications right now. Everything's so far away in this town that when I was stood up by someone at a movie theater, it was a 3 hour walk back to my house, so going to someone's house is pretty much out of the question until I get a car. I guess I'll have to wait another month to start meeting people again, but I really can't stay at home any longer.
