Horrible news that would make gamers cry.

You have to pay for each patch, as well as the DLC to make the patch work, as well as the expansion to make the DLC work, and pay for another patch to make the DLC work with the patch.

You are required to maintain a constant internet connection to the primary game server for a singleplayer-only game, or the game turns into a virus that destroys everything on your computer, overwriting it with random child porn images, and then reports you to the police.

All audio is DLC. All soundtrack/music is locked behind an ad paywall, and even if you pay for everything, you still can't get past the paywall.

Due to fan pressure Konami reverse their cancellation of Silent Hills. Because Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are no longer involved in the games production, the title is currently undergoing a revamp by Michael Bay and a licencing contract with Disney Interactive.

Half-Life 3 is released as a broken mess, with microtransactions, DLC's that the grand total is greater than $200, campaign is under 2 hours long, shitty frame rate, took $50 million to "make", and over all, makes Mighty No. 9 look like a masterpiece if it was written by Mozart, and was a song.

Sony announce that they are producing a narrative-heavy RPG quadrilogy spinoff of the Soul Calibur games, based on the adventures of the character Olcadan.

Seriously, somebody came up with this character. He was actually in a game, which was quite a popular series if I recall correctly. That means potentially hundreds upon thousands of people saw, fought against and/or played as Olcadan at some point in their lives. It's actually quite awe-inspiring when you think about it. I might add Olcadan to my list of things that should survive long after the human race has gone extinct.

Nothing at all happens for 6 months.
