This one reminds me of either Thief games or Magic: The Gathering. Either way, it brings back pleasant memories.

I spent quite a bit of time scrolling through the museum, the ones that stood out for me were all imitating physical interfaces, i.e. real radios, music players etc. I actually enjoyed the experience a lot - I can almost synesthetically feel the satisfying feeling of pressing these old-school buttons, and turning the knobs until they click!

Now I'm also mad! I have seen the truth! We *could* have it sooo much better that Windows default!!

Ross, I'm a huge fan, watched all of your videos many times! Was hungry for more, so I'm actually already halfway finished with the monthly chats, currently on January 2017!

I've always wanted to somehow let you know that I *IMMENSLY* appreciate your content, but never really got around to it. (I've spent many a dark and depressive night binge-rewatching all the Game Dungeons, I think I know some of them by heart now.) So now that I'm finally on the forums, here goes: THANK YOU ROSS, YOU ROCK!!

[Sorry for writing offtopic or if this makes anyone cringe, but I just had to say it.]

Make the scratchiness smoother and perhaps add a "shifting symbols at random intervals every 20 days" and this Eucledian geometry skin might be the closest I can get to feeling like a devil-summoning wizard whose magic works only through Windows.

I think I agree with @alfredzharoff, oldschool buttons and knobs are the way to go. My pick would be:

I think it's become clear to me, having spent about an hour on that site, that your choice of colors is really quite restricted if you're looking to style the entire OS.

If you're looking for something that would be easy to read, functional, universally appealing and that you wouldn't get tired of quickly, you're left with white (or shades of gray) for backgrounds and blue for accent colors. That's because black text on white backgrounds is generally easier to read & better for comprehension. As for accent colors, green is probably out as red-green is the most common type of color blindness. What are we left with then? Yellows? Purples?

So I guess it's no surprise that some of the better-looking ones tend to borrow heavily from OS X.

white text on black backgrounds just feels HEAVY to me and i feel like i'm partially being blinded by it, and personally it drives me insane to have pure white and i always go for a more grey-ish color instead

also i generally like white themes more since, not only do i find them less tiring to look at, but, i honestly find dark themes a bit, moody and depressing

but i'm probably a heretic

Yeah, white on black always looks hopelessly fuzzy and a pain to read even on lowest brightness to me. That's the number one reason I sign up to forums -- just to be able to switch themes. Doesn't help here though haha
