End of the world

I made this thread for the sole purpose of discussing the various claims that I have been hearing about the end of the world. Apparently tomorrow ( 21st of May 2001 ) it has been predicted that rapture will come and suck all the christians up into heaven, I obviously think these claims are ridiculous but apparently some people are actually taking this seriously.

I'll list all the armegeddon claims below in the format dd/mm/yyyy, if anyone else knows of anymore I'll edit this post to contain the new ones.

- 21st May 2011- Yet another rapture

- 21st December 2012- We all know this one, Mayan calendar BS

- October 2011- Halley's comet apocalypse with a different comet

I expect the 21st of May will come and go without incident. Also you might want to make your date format more consistent.

Feel free to PM me about almost anything and I'll do my best to answer. :)

An end of the world is predicted by some intelligence challenged individuals in October this year when the comet Elenin will pass by earth, predicted to not come any closer to us than ~35 million kms. Some people even claim there are spaceships hiding behind it and we will have a first contact.

Well, 21st of May over here, don't know about everyone else but it seems the world hasn't ended. I'll have to wait until morning to check whether all the christians have been TP'd into the clouds though.

When the world ends, I hope it'll at least be more interesting than anything else that has ever happened. Zombie apocalypse, that sort of thing. Not just "bang".

Christians: Give all your belongings to the Accursed Farms staff before you go to heaven, that guarantees you access to FM and CP while up there.

Where'd you read that? No one's supposed to know about that yet.

People make wild guesses and their sheep follow suit, but they do not know they are actually correct in reality. In a few days I will go there and take care of the necr- errr... aliens.

All these end of the world theories are a waste of time to even think about.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These "Christians" that think they know when the end is coming, obviously either didn't read their Bible, or don't really believe it... It says in there that nobody will know when the end is, and that it will come when no one expects it. If you expect it, it's a guarantee that it won't end then.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

Wait for the end of the world themed pornographic photo and video sets to show up the same (or (not) the next) day. Oh yeah.

I've read in a russian journal, there's a seperate catastrophe event "almost end of the world" every year beggining with 2012 for some reason and ending somewhere in 2030's when apparently the last things of this world will be destroyed, (Long after humans got destroyed)

Catastrophes including: Last piece of oil, Nuclear Apocalypse, Soul apocalypse... etc.

I will have to find the article in english.

Then there was apparently one in 2006, 2002, 1999/2000, 1996.

"When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

I actually accidentally destroyed the world back in 2004 (that will teach me to try to teleport a cat), and you reading this are the only person I was able to back up and save in this huge virtual world. Everyone else you encounter, including the other posters who are not you, is a sophisticated simulation.

Sorry about the glitches. I'm afraid the file "Politics.exe" is irreparably corrupted.

But seriously, I know that none of these people REALLY believe, because they have all refused to turn their property over to me effective May 22nd. They actually expect to NEED it later.

I'm curious as how they're going to rationalize their failure THIS time. Camping's been wrong before.

He just kept talking and talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt it was really quite hypnotic...

I could be wrong, but the world does not appear to have ended.
