Welcome to Accursed Farms. We’re going to keep this simple. If you use this site, you're agreeing to the following terms and conditions, which may change at any time. It's your responsibility to check back here for updates.

What information do we collect?

We collect your username, your email, your IP address, and your birthdate to stay compliant with COPPA laws and regulations regarding the protection of minors. We collect browser data and use cookies strictly to keep you logged in and functional on this site. If you fill out optional profile fields, we collect that too.

Children under the age of 14 may not use this site in any contributing capacity, including posting to the forums.

What do we do with this collected information?

Not much, really. We use it to let you post on the site, send you notifications, and stop spammers. We don’t sell it, we don’t give it away, and we do our best to protect the little data we do collect. Just in case, don’t provide any information to the site that you wouldn’t want to end up in a breach.

When you post to our forums or contribute to the site, you are granting us irrevocable permission to display, alter, or remove that data for the rest of all time and without limit.

When do we share personal data? (Third-Party Providers)

We use third-party services to keep this place running, and they may collect some usage data or process your information to function:

  • Xenforo: This is the forum software that serves as the backbone of the site. (Privacy Policy)
  • SMTP2GO: We use this to send bulk emails, such as forum reminders, registration emails, and notifications. (Privacy Policy)
  • Akismet: We send your IP address, user agent, and post content to Akismet to automatically check for and filter out spam. (Privacy Policy)
  • Cloudflare: We use this for site performance and security/DDoS protection. (Privacy Policy)
  • hCaptcha: We use this anti-bot service to protect site functionality. hCaptcha analyzes hardware and software information, such as device and application data, to determine if you are human. (Privacy Policy)

How do we secure personal data?

We rely on the volunteer work of a few dedicated individuals to keep the site running. Don’t put anything into any part of the site that would be considered identifying or would compromise you if leaked. While we do our very best, we can’t promise that the site won’t be breached at some point. No website is unhackable. Use a significantly different password on Accursed Farms that you don't use anywhere else.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Browser data is rinsed every now and then with the cache, but anything you save in your profile is there forever or until you change it. Your public posts are not personal data; they belong to Accursed Farms when you post.

About private messages…

They are gone. We removed the PM system entirely. This disincentivizes sharing PII and eliminates the risk of that data leaking. If you want to talk privately, use another platform.

Linking to other websites/third-party content.

We’re not responsible for what is on other sites. If you click a link and it takes you somewhere unsavory or you pick up a virus, that’s on you.

GDPR Obligations & Your Rights

We collect no personally identifiable information outside of your browser type, your public IP address, and your email address. We do not track any activity outside of our website. Any GDPR data request regarding third parties (Xenforo, Cloudflare, Akismet, SMTP2GO, hCaptcha) must be made directly to that third party. You may request us to change or delete your account information, however, we are not obligated under GDPR to delete any public post that is not considered protected information, and we won't.

Site Protections & Liability (The Legal Additions)

  • DMCA / Copyright: If you post copyrighted material that you do not own, we will remove it upon receiving a valid DMCA takedown notice, and your account may be terminated.
  • Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any legal disputes arising from your use of the site will be handled in our local jurisdiction.
  • User Conduct: You agree not to post illegal content, malware, or actively attempt to damage, scrape, or otherwise disrupt the site's infrastructure.

Finally.

By using this site you agree under no circumstances to hold Accursed Farms, its affiliates, or owner responsible for damage occurring from use of the site. There is no implied warranty.

  • Do not attempt to login under someone else’s account.
  • Do not make multiple accounts.
