Do you think you need more games?

I have a huge Steam library I've built up over the decade, some of the games I've barely played or haven't touched in years.

A couple of weeks ago I had some memes and lore videos of a game I hadn't played in 5 years (Kenshi) get recommended to me on YouTube. I forgot how cool the game was, and decided to jump back into it and have been playing it a ton since. I now also have the urge to play a ton of other games I already have once I find the time and get bored of Kenshi again, but this coupled with the fact that many games coming out today are crap, I've realized I have probably enough games to last me the rest of my life. I may occasionally buy a new one (got friends bugging me to get Helldivers 2), but other than maybe 1 game a year or something like that, I feel like I don't need any more.

Does anyone else feel the same? I'm only 25 and feel like I've got a game library for life. Or are there 40 year-olds in here that buy the new Sportsball Manager 20XX every year?

 
hell, Im in this situation myself, I think my games collection is at if not over 1k games. 744 on steam and then at lease a few hundred across the other platforms (EA, Battlenet, EPIC, etc....). I am actually thinking of doing an alphabetical run through of my games and uploading the play through to youtube...but here is the sad state of my current games folders. 

All the drives with Red around them are NOTHING but games

The drives currently total 18TB of space and of that I am using approximately 11.6TBs and im still not fully installed

I can probably be dropped on an island with a laptop, solar panel and my Dwarf Fortress and be set for life lol
That being said, there is nothing wrong in playing a new game for a bit before returning to ol' reliables, as long as you enjoy it.

I doubt you'd find ppl like that on this forum, but I def know a guy.
 
Probably not. I sort my Steam library by if I've completed the game or not, and my "Need to Beat" shelf outweighs my finished by like 2:1. I could spend years not buying another game and never run out of things to play just from Steam, not counting my physical backlogs.

I like mods. I don't need "new" games if I can mod older games. I still am getting new games when I can though, because I get more dopamine from completely new experiences.
 
I also have a few hundred games in my libraries but I can't stop myself from buying more when they are discounted to just a few cents. There's no way I'll ever play all of those.
But I also almost never finish games, so I go through them quite quickly. Most games get worse the closer you get to the end and few have satisfying endings, so I usually just stop somewhere.

I rarely finish games because of ADHD, that's also why I like sandbox style games, and mods. (the first don't have an end, the latter makes it a semi-new game halfway through so I can sometimes finish it)

I can totally understand that, even though it's pretty much the opposite for me. When I start modding a game it's an endless limbo of adding more and reinstalling the game when it stops working until I give up. I don't think I ever finished a modded game.
Sandboxes are great, but there's always this moment of doom when I realize that I've put hours into building something that will be gone in an instant. I don't know why I still have several hundred hours in Dwarf Fortress.

Tends to go that way for me too, but they also tend to be sandbox, or close to sandbox games anyways. (7 Days to Die, Fallout 4, etc.) I will admit, I have never actually gotten all the way through Act 2 of Baldur's Gate 3 because I wanted to mod in more items and spells. (There's enough stuff for Act 1 without mods, but it feels kinda lacking for me after that)
 
I don't need any games, but I will keep buying more just in case I end up enjoying them. It doesn't take much of my money, and someday I might even find an action RPG I enjoy [though I ain't holding my breath for that].
 
I'll probably stop playing video games entirely in the next few years based on my current trajectory of available. But having more never hurts
