That's true, although doesn't XenForo support reactions? I wouldn't want reactions implemented here (being social media-y) but that could sort of be a score system for Videochat questions.

Sadly, forums are in general a dying breed. They aren't addictive enough to draw the crowd from the more common social media sources. Nobody wants to converse anymore, they just want to post 15 second videos and press a button to tell others they like their 15 sec videos.

It's kinda exhausting, everything's just dopamine hacked, infinite scrolling, (as cia put it) gamified, disposable bullshit. There's just a massively less personalized feel to everything. A lot of that niche seems to have moved to discord, but live chat just feels uncomfortably close to a livestream chat - annoyingly fast with little room to think through what's being said.
The internet just kinda...sucks these days.
