  1. I'm in a small perdicament. Axeldeath gifted me mirrors edge, then J.C. gifted me mirrors edge. Which wouldn't be too bad if I didn't already own mirrors edge for the Xbox 360. I only added it to my wishlist because you need 10 games to be eligable for Steam's latest whatever contest. I feel like such a jerk right now.

  2. The definition is correct, you're interpreting it wrong. "The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs" When did the drunk claim to never drink? If he suggests temperance to others yet drinks himself, he may not have the strength to quit himself, but can still honestly believe in the virtues he does not have.

  3. Modder friendly maybe, but not machinima friendly. The game is too big and open to match the relative stability and attention to detail of the source engine. No multiplayer, bugs and some animation shortcuts (i.e. People opening doors and disappearing, not actually touching objects, etc.). Not a game I expect too many machinimas from. Maybe another Freeman's Mind style machinima, but I doubt any CP level animation machinimas.

  4. WRONG!

Defintion of hypocrisy off of Google:

hy·poc·ri·sy /hiˈpäkrisē/ Noun: The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense.

Dumbed down definition: Saying something is wrong but doing it anyway.

ABG, you're backing your statement with the connotation of the word. Hypocrite is generally thought of as very bad. A drunk who tells people not to drink isn't a bad person, as he understands that drinking is bad, but he is still a hypocrite. But a drunk man who claims to always be sober is just a lier.

"Nothing is more unjust, however common, than to charge with hypocrisy him that expresses zeal for those virtues which he neglects to practice; since he may be sincerely convinced of the advantages of conquering his passions, without having yet obtained the victory, as a man may be confident of the advantages of a voyage, or a journey, without having courage or industry to undertake it, and may honestly recommend to others, those attempts which he neglects himself."

The drunk never claimed to always be sober, he didn't claim those moral standards.

  5. A hypocrite is a -edit- who say she don't do shit, but then turn right aroun and go do that same shit right to your face, just like a bitch!

Not... really... that's a common misconception. An example of a hypocrite could be a drunk who claims to always be sober. He would not be a hypocrite if he told others not to drink, because even though he hasn't stopped drinking himself he might very well believe in temperance but not have the strength to quit yet.
  6. Disney movies are a walk in the park next to the real world. Here's an excerpt from A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah.

We had walked six miles and were now at Kabati, Grandmother’s village. It was deserted. All that was left were footprints in the sand leading toward the dense forest that spread out beyond the village.

As evening approached, people started arriving from the mining area. Their whispers, the cries of little children seeking lost parents and tired of walking, and the wails of hungry babies replaced the evening songs of crickets and birds. We sat on Grandmother’s verandah, waiting and listening.

“Do you guys think it is a good idea to go back to Mogbwemo?” Junior asked. But before either of us had a chance to answer, a Volkswagen roared in the distance and all the people walking on the road ran into the nearby bushes. We ran, too, but didn’t go that far. My heart pounded and my breathing intensified. The vehicle stopped in front of my grandmother’s house, and from where we lay, we could see that whoever was inside the car was not armed. As we, and others, emerged from the bushes, we saw a man run from the driver’s seat to the sidewalk, where he vomited blood. His arm was bleeding. When he stopped vomiting, he began to cry. It was the first time I had seen a grown man cry like a child, and I felt a sting in my heart. A woman put her arms around the man and begged him to stand up. He got to his feet and walked toward the van. When he opened the door opposite the driver’s, a woman who was leaning against it fell to the ground. Blood was coming out of her ears. People covered the eyes of their children.

In the back of the van were three more dead bodies, two girls and a boy, and their blood was all over the seats and the ceiling of the van. I wanted to move away from what I was seeing, but couldn’t. My feet went numb and my entire body froze. Later we learned that the man had tried to escape with his family and the rebels had shot at his vehicle, killing all his family. The only thing that consoled him, for a few seconds at least, was when the woman who had embraced him, and now cried with him, told him that at least he would have the chance to bury them. He would always know where they were laid to rest, she said. She seemed to know a little more about war than the rest of us.

It was the most emotionally powerful book I've ever read.
  7. What, is it? Well than whats a word for a person who says there not something... and then they are... uh.

For the record, I still have never called myself a Brony and still don't intend to, holding true to the post I made in the past where I said that I would never call myself a Brony.

I'd much rather be called a Christian; I have priorities when it comes to non-specific collective nouns being applied to myself.

How about that. The people that don't really qualify as bronies are so eager to have the title and jump on the bandwagon. While some of the more true bronies are so terrified of actually admitting to liking something that they'll do anything to not be one. There is no concrete brony stereotype. Stop crapping in your diapers when someone calls you one.
  8. It costs that high because almost everything you can get from unboxing it also costs extremely high.
Well the majority of items are. The machina, gunslinger and kritzkrieg are all worth more than the crate and key by a variable margin, but the caber and mackerel are a fairly large loss.

I think I need to take a break from any and all trading. There are so many scammers out there that it's sickening. Everyone is overselling or underbuying everything. No one's buying anything nowadays anyway.

  9. So I started rereading this thread...

    Pretty interesting...

    Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned that most of my internet friends are FUCKING HYPOCRITES!

    Your faithful student,

    Srake

How so? Hypocrisy is claiming to have qualities you don't have.
