Games don't have to be violent for me to enjoy them. That said, violence in video games doesn't bother me either.

Not in Canada, sort ofAlso, don't discuss the torrenting of this openly on the forums as it's illegal.
, and you mean pirating not torrenting.
Note how I used the words 'torrenting this'. Torrenting in itself is not piracy, however torrenting MLP is. I just thought I'd clarify that.

For some reason it works for viewing it from their channel page, but not from viewing the video directly, because it's private...that seems a little exploitable...
Anyway, not a bad episode, I remember that area being pretty confusing in layout as well. Looking forward to the next.

Also, don't discuss the torrenting of this openly on the forums as it's illegal.

Discussing the show and the indoctrination of others is fine.

New Deus-Ex:Human Revolution themed weapons.
Personally I hope there's a unique crafting recipe for the Deus Specs...

Well this certainly is somewhat odd. Perhaps it's because they're trying to release it to some sort of internal schedule they have? After all it being uploaded has not coincided with a news post from Ross. I assume they notify him when they say the video is available.

If you could care less, then you're not caring as little as you could about something. If you couldn't care less, then you literally couldn't care less about something you don't care about.

I felt the need to clarify that point as the phrase honestly makes no sense! More seriously, there needs to be a) more TF2 and b) more people in the Accursed Farms Steam group chat.

I have perfect pitch in hearing only... I can detect even the slightest of pitch change, volume change, or even a timing alteration. (and remember it forever) I'm hopeless when reproducing the sounds/tunes/melodies though.
Anyone can hear pitch variations etc, I believe that would be classed as relative pitch. Absolute Pitch is to know what a sound is simply by hearing it without other reference. For example, someone plays a chord, and the person with Absolute Pitch can hear the notes in that chord and know the key it's in. Not because they've practice it or heard the chord a lot, they simply 'know' in the same way that a (non-colourblind person) can identify that something is blue simply by looking at it.
Remembering it forever would be classed under something else I suspect. A perfect memory would be capable of reproducing it correctly however.
-
@ blightmare and Doom Shepherd - I'm guessing you both have Absolute Pitch, you lucky people.
As for myself, I'm probably a bit too much of a pessimist to believe I have any talent, natural or otherwise, other than for being lazy. I did however achieve my Grade 7 for piano, but I find doing regular practice difficult, not because of the piano itself, but probably due to my procrastinating/distractable nature.

When I played the trial, I got the distinct impression it was only fun if you played it with friends. Playing it alone would probably be somewhat soul destroying.

Sounds like what Death Metal usually sounds like to me whenever I've heard it.

Guys, please once you've reported them just ignore them and post as normal because otherwise it a) makes no sense once a moderator has removed the bot post and b) adds further spam.

I've cleaned up the topic, carry on.

From Dust does look very impressive, I saw a video on Kotaku of a volcano that repeatedly erupted, spewing more and more material on to the surrounding ocean, slowly building a large and distinct cone-shaped island.

I'm vetoing these as being obscure, Bioshock was practically a recreation of SS2 as it is.
Agreed and moved to the Obscure PC Games section.
You've misunderstood the word vetoing. He was saying that this thread shouldn't be in the Obscure PC Games section (where I originally posted it) and it was moved to the General Gaming section by Ross. I still dispute this as I consider both the original and the sequel to be quite obscure.
-
I think we need more people in the Accursed Farms group chat.

Assuming the image isn't a hoax...it's a shame they don't have the equipment to search further, as I cannot think what it could really be. It definitely looks artificial.
Also, I've moved this to the Free For All section as this can hardly be classed as serious unless it's proven insanely true and an alien spacecraft is dug up in the middle of the ocean. I'm personally classing that outcome as 'unlikely' but you never know...

I'm vetoing these as being obscure, Bioshock was practically a recreation of SS2 as it is.
Bioshock was a spiritual sequel and is well known, but the original two System Shock games less so. In fact I really don't know much about the original at all (despite getting my hands on a boxed copy I've yet to play it just yet). System Shock 2 on the other hand I know a bit about. I believe the way things happened is that despite getting good reviews it didn't sell well. As a result it became a forgotten classic. I've spoken to people on my Steam friends list who're fans of Bioshock who've never heard of this game. It's a classic but it's quite forgotten. It's not even resold as a budget game, the only way to get genuine copies any more is off auction sites such as Ebay.

Here is a modified recording of me humming the tune... (I tried to get it as close to what I remember as possible) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB-zXtwKbqY
To be honest, I'm afraid that recording could not sound more unclear.

You're sure it's as close to the original tune as you can get? Do you have any musical instruments you could use to try and get a better sound for people to compare?

SS1 was a revolutionary game in 1994, SS2. . . not so much, but I greatly prefer the sequel in terms of gameplay and aesthetics.
For SS1 your main troubles may be getting it to run and the atrocious controls that need trickery to remap. You'll find all the info you need on the TTLG community forums.
This is the site I've been looking at, however if memory serves when I last got System Shock 2 to work on this PC, I had to do various different things and get solutions from different sites and forums to ultimately have it working fine (and in 1680x1050). That was on Windows Vista though, and I'm now on Windows 7...
It is Von Braun by the way. If you had made this mistake on the TTLG forums you'd have been shot even before submitting the post.

Gah, a silly mistake! Fixed.

Moved to the Forum Games section.

I saw this site before. For anyone unaware, it's for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The site was initially 'intact', but has since been 'hacked' by 'anti-augmentation' protesters.

The reason you can't find anything on backpacks like that is because it's not referred to as a backpack, it appears to be referred to as a knapsack, at least according to this page's description of what a knapsack is here. The description matches the image:
http://www.47thfoot.co.uk/mainframe.html
This random sewing pattern of a backpack for the 33rd foot might help:
http://www.33rdfoot.org/knapsack-pattern.html
And there's a description of it here:
http://www.33rdfoot.org/knapsacks.html
However I doubt you'll find any easy to locate reference images, you'll probably have to create your own textures based on that one image, the descriptions and the sewing pattern provided (for scale reference purposes, etc).
I'm no artist and don't know how to do this, but if you are or know someone who is an artist, this stuff may help.

I've only ever seen the option to select specific preset forum themes in the UCP, not the ability to customize every aspect of how the forum looks.
