Dogs, on the other hand, are awesome.
We will have to agree to disagree there.

J.C. doesn't like cats.

April first is such a good day to make announcements.

Catchy.

What keeps me alive is the beauty of the world and curiosity on what the next day will bring.

The 'None of the above' option is overrated. If you don't like any scifi then what the hell are you even doing in this thread?

Or at least that's the way it's supposed to be calculated.
Star Trek hasn't been consistent with the exact velocity of the warp scale but what I based my calculation on was the simple formula v = (w^3)*c, which I found in wikipedia a good while ago to write my little calculation app for a programming course. So the scales would be simply:
1 = 1x
2 = 8x
3 = 27x
4 = 64x
5 = 125x
6 = 216x
7 = 343x
8 = 512x
9 = 729x
10 = 1000x
To be honest I like your calculation better though, much much higher acceleration as the warp factor increases. . .
I like speed.

Making the cracks is illegal since it involves reverse engineering of compiled code. Using them on the other hand shouldn't be illegal, and I go by that principle.

Space fascinates me. How vast it is, all those worlds we have yet to explore and colonize. And the beauty! Artistic vision of space creates some of my favourite art pieces, from images to music.
My dream is to one day travel to a distant world with hundreds of people in a huge starship. The odds of that happening in my lifetime are thinner than the human air at best, but I can always dream while I live. But god damn it would be long journeys. You know how long it would take to travel 400 lightyears at Star Trek's warp 10? Close to 5 months. And from that point onwards are additional billions of lightyears of space to cover. It is safe to say that to explore space to any meaningful degree it will take some serious technological advancements.

I only eat snacks during weekends. Usually have a bag or two of candy handy.

The internet gives the basement dwellers a voice, how cool is that?

The modvision only works in the MCP though, as far as I know. I can set posts per page to whatever number I want but it won't get saved and used outside the MCP.

Never used a modern AMD CPU, but their HD 5770 GPU works great and fast for me.

Is there anything the Simpsons haven't done?

I crack all my games when I can. I do not want to deal with the disk check bullshit.

What a coincidence, so am I!

I never drink diet coke unless I am forced to. I just don't trust it.
And I don't like its taste. Coke Lite is even worse.

with the size reduction we must have lost at least 30 pages of post's.
No. Each page displays 20 posts, regardless of overall length.

Star Trek, but I am not an active fan in any sense of the word.

I don't quite understand that post. He was going to preorder the game for PS3 at EB games when it became available but then he found out about torrenting so instead of using his money on the game he is just going to torrent it when it is released. Correct anything you think I've misunderstood because I'm not quite sure what your saying.
In that case he will pirate regardless of the quality of the product, so yes, he should not be counted as a lost sale.

I wonder on which day God created his beard.

IrfanView is a free little image editor that gives you good access to jpg's features. Open an image, choose 'Save as' and before saving play around with the quality settings.
If jpg images are subject to the same laws of transcoding as lossy audio is, then you'd want to resave them as rarely as possible.

I thought since you were doing generalizations I might as well join in. I have encountered awesome dogs like the one my dad had, and also loud and stupid ones that make a hyperactive hamster look reliable. Likewise I have met awesome and loving cats alongside lazy ones that don't care about anyone, not even their owner. I think a pet's upbringing says a lot about certain traits, getting them young and bringing them up yourself goes a long way to create quality friends, bring adults to a new home is only asking for trouble in most cases.
