  1. After spending some time with the toolset of Dragon Age, I've decided to abandon using this engine for the medieval fantasy video I want to work on. In addition to encountering some difficulties that wouldn't happen to me in Source, I've realized the mapping support just isn't there. I've found maybe 10 custom maps created for Dragon Age, versus some 10,000+ made for the Source engine.

With all the hype Skyrim got, who knows, they might have some good independent mappers working on it soon

  2. [exit]

    [more information]

how many people are guarding the entrance?

(i don't remember how that exact dialogue would go, but i think i'm close enough. :P)

(Screw it, im just going to improvise)

Do you think i know? im just the small fish, if you stare at this guys for too long you end up like Big Rizzle, may god have his soul, im not going to die just to help some Aug.

  3. [intimidate]

or how about i let you keep your arm?

    (we're doing Dues Ex, right?)

Easy bro, easy, its just business.

Look, i overheard the boss saying something about it being somewhere in the left corner./

(I just love the "intimidate" is the answer to pretty much everything, its not like they have guns or bionic arms themselves.)

  4. Played through Half Life 2, finally got the Zombie Chopper achievement.

(protip: when grigori sends up the cart, jump back inside the building you're on and hide out there until it arrives at the roof)

Well, i just kept on running in circles and screamin like a six years old girl.

Whatever suits you best i guess.

  5. for some reason when you make a big line of text without spaces it stretches the page, is there any way you can make it so that it forces text on a new line at a certain point?

    Example:

    exampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexample

Sure, I'll do that when I get home.

Nagisa havent got to her home for days now.

  6. ...second part of my plan.

    FIRST WAVE

Okay, the idea here is to completely surround the enemy exits before the setup time is over, the 4 engineers with the gunslinger (2 deploy the dispensers and the other 2 deploy the teleporters), the 8 engineers with jag make the 8 level 3 sentries.

I wont draw it but, after the first wave, the engineers with the gunslinger will go ahead and spam mini-sentries to distract any remaining enemies near the spawn, meanwhile the 8 engineers with the jag will move their 8 level 3 sentries to the entrance of the spawn (4 will cover the front and the 4 will cover the sides of the spawn exit), after that the gunslinger using engineers can return to the spawn and change their melee to wrenches and create support sentries, with the spawn surrounded the 8 engineers can create a few dispensers to give them metal.

    I NEVER TESTED THIS

Im not sure if we can setup this in the setup time.

  7. Okay, today is gonna be a busy day so i just opened paint and made a few "sketches" of how would that engineer domination work in a typical 12 vs 12 match in dustbowl 3.

It is not fully necessary, but if possible the team could have:

    8 engineers with the jag.

    4 engineers with the gunslinger.

All the engineers with the Short circuit

    Small circle = engineer

    Big circle = teleporter exit

    Box = dispenser

    X = Sentry

Gonna have to double post, attachment limit...

  8. Well guys, im not saying thats a fail-proof plan, but again, i thought were going to dominate a random pub.

In a pub where the enemy medic ubers a heavy to take out sentries instead of a demoman, the demomans are so drunk we can easily whip out their bombs with the short circuit and spies ,well they are fail-spies. :)

And even if a engineer gets killed, we just have to protect his sentry until he respawns.

Tomorrow i will upload a few sketches of this crazy engineer domination in the "coordinated tf2" topic

  9. Once i had this idea for a tf2 replay:

We are at setup time in dustbowl 3, everybody is engineer, we do some coordinated action (kinda hard to explain how its going to be right now), we hold their 1st wave, advance our sentries further and keep doing that until we completely surround their spawn with sentries using an engineer only team.

We make some editing to make it look more epic, throw in that tf2 trailer music, and we call it "Engineer Fortress 2".
