  1. I need some help with regards to the subtitles for this episode. Normally, I'd just email Ross but he's been so busy lately that I think it would be quicker if I just asked here.

After going to the "homicidal guard" at around 6 minutes in, he says something like "Fucking psycho curd serial killing security guard..." I know that's wrong but I can't figure out what he's saying here. Anyone know? :)

  2. I'm aware that the guards will shoot back at you if you damage them, but they will ally with you if you don't. Vorts won't ally with you in HL1. (I don't recall if you can get them to ally with you in HL2 but I don't think you can.)

  3. They're not technically "friendly" in the first game. Friendlies (such as scientists and guards) will ally with you if you talk to them. These vorts more neutral than enemies. They will still attack you if you fight them, but they will not ally with you.

  4. So, in Ross's Game Dungeon, Ross reviewed the game Eternam and in the review, he lamented that there weren't too many games set in the time of the French revolution.

Evidently, the new Assassin's Creed game (named "Unity") is going to be set in the time of the French revolution. Now all we need is an Assassin's Creed set in a haunted amusement park... ;)

  5. I didn't think that the April Fools joke was mean-spirited in the least, and voicing "Freeman" in "every first-person game" would be too large of an undertaking. I thought it was hilarious, though. :)

  6. Harry Potter revelation in the spoiler:

When Harry first meets him, Snape challenges Harry to answer the question, "Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

On the surface, this seems that this is Snape simply being his usual dickish self trying to make Harry look bad for being a "celebrity", but if you investigate the question, something very revealing comes out. Asphodel is a type of lily and has been associated in ancient Greek poems with the afterlife. Wormwood is a type of plant that is known for its bitter taste.

This is JK Rowling subtly implying what would come out in the 7th book--that Snape was bitter over the death of his one true love: Lily Evans.
