He's entering the Lambda Complex (a long confusing maze) that will eventually transport Freeman to Xen.

Awesome episode! Love that he's still commenting on oddities encountered during the playthrough, such as the soldiers having their backs towards him while the tank was pointing at him. Also, he made that section of the game look easy. I always had a difficult time with that section of the game. Guess that's because he has a doctor's degree and I don't.

What is your favorite "blockbuster" movie of all time?

", we're at about 26 minutes into a 36 minute video. Figuring for this, 51 episodes into 26 minutes ≈ about 2 episodes per minute of this speed run. With this standard, there are 20 episodes left? Maybe Episode 75 will be the last Freeman's Mind in HL1.

 

If the same standard holds and if Ross decides to do HL2, the average speed run is about 1.5 hours (90 minutes) or about 180 episodes.

Waiting for the conversion of Freeman's Mind Episode 51 into MPEG1 format so I can load it up in Subtitle Workshop and check the timing and formatting for errors before upload. Then I'm gonna do the Thanksgiving stuff.

My favorite part of this episode is Freeman playing peek-a-boo with the agrunts. I was almost literally rolling on the floor from the falsetto "Peek-a-boo!".

So, if I recall my Half-Life, next up on the agenda for Gordon is the room overlooking that area with the turret, the agrunts and the spawning vortigaunts near the copious snark nests (those should provide some interesting comments). Then down the tube into the sewers with the barnacles and the icthy. Then back up into the HECU warzone on the surface before taking the elevator down to the path into the Lambda Complex covered in radioactive goo.

 

The potential here for comments is fantastic.

 

Also, there's a potential here of a flip-over to the Black Mesa mod. When Gordon jumps into the portal into Xen, that could be where another potential transition to the mod happens. Just a possibility.
