  1. Oh man, Civil Protection. I haven't thought about that show in a loooong time.

I completely agree. The guy that makes that show should have a website, but for the life of me, I couldn't tell you what it is.

  2. Good movie. I've seen similar, but this is definitely the best of the ones I've seen like this.

Also, I loled at Grigori just showing up in the back seat... Almost expected by me. (I always check the back seat in my real car every time I get in, just in case there's a ninja there)

Now you'll have to check for a random Grigori appearance, too. :)

  3. It's a tape recorder, right? Well, if the dead man recorded the tape as he died and then the police just pressed "play", they wouldn't hear anything except for what might have already been on the tape because the death was recorded "before" that point on the tape. Someone would have to rewind the tape so that they can play and hear it.

I am visible to adults only with special equipment but the very young can see me with their own eyes. What am I?

  4.

When the driver said, "Screw it, I'm out of here," I was with him 100% of the way (though I may have attempted to book it out of town before then).

    ;)

Also, big spoilers on this (I suggest not reading this unless you're very curious about the possible inspiration for this story):

I see the town is called "Midwich", which is a town from a story called "The Midwich Cuckoos", which was later remade into the "Village of the Damned" movies, about all the life in Midwich falling unconscious for a day, then all child-bearing able women in the town fall pregnant at the same time, then give birth to otherworldly children who might not be entirely human. This idea adds to the creepiness factor of this story, IMHO. Kudos, Ross!

  5. In this game, you pick a title of a video game, movie, television show, or book, drop exactly one letter, and you have to describe the story of the new title.

    I'll begin.

    Half-Lie.

It is the story of how a politician rises to power, seems to gain everything, then loses it all when the chickens come home to roost.

  6. Hell: Trying to get a group to work on a project only to have them flake out on you, then apologize and promise to do it right away, then flake out again.

(As per Ross's post on "Stranger in Need", it's a feeling I know all too well.)
