  1. Thanks for understanding my situation BTG. I've wrestled with my consciousness as to whether I'm giving my cousin potential nightmare fuel with my available toys, but it's not as if I'm showing photographs of Linda Blair or otherwise obviously traumatic material. Despite my own fears regarding the morality of my interests and my cousins almost inevitable exposure to it, it doesn't seem like the "scariness" of the monsters is even what his father has an issue with. I'll be the first to admit that I'm rather touchy about the idea of certain strands of knowledge being unavailable, unfavoured or outright forbidden by small-mindedness and pettiness.

Ok, so here's my viewpoint, from how I grew up. I'm 100% totally Catholic. Both parents are Catholic 100%. They started teaching me about ancient world mythology when I was a year old. I never had any nightmares about ANY of the 'monsters'. There really is no way to when all of the stories have a 'kid friendly' version where the hero wins. Besides that, it taught me to think way outside the box to solve otherwise impossible situations. (thinking about the Jason and the Argonauts here, a movie my parents let me watch when I was 2 years old) NONE OF THIS HAS EVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO WAVERING MY FAITH! (and I was a surprisingly average kid)

Now you have evidence to support your position of those 'monsters' being harmless to teach a kid about, even when dealing with religion.

Just don't get the kid hooked on D&D, and he should be perfectly fine. ;)

  2. They already have full-blown art and modeling systems for it, and even a motion capture system that uses it.

VR will reside in the niche realm, but AR (augmented reality) is likely to become a more 'everyday' thing, but not for another decade or two. (they have to improve processing and display capabilities and object tracking/recognition a LOT before it hits 'mainstream')

  3. I wear steel toe boots... They are a bit too big, because they don't properly accommodate my feet otherwise... Because of this, my pinky toes reside behind the edge of the steel toe cover... I accidentally forgot this, and knelt down a little too fast... I also have long toe nails right now... You can guess the pain and blood that resulted.

  4. Marcus, always Marcus. I'm waiting for a Fallout game where Marcus is rebuilt as a cyborg mutant that needs destroy the last remnants of the Enclave. :')

And here I was thinking you were talking about the one from Borderlands...

Creation engine is a engine that is piggybacking off of Gamebryo which is outdated as hell. I think it's time for a change.

I don't think you really understand how game engine development really works. The current version Creation Engine only bears a passing resemblance in about 1% of its code to the old Gamebryo Engine.

  5. I honestly couldn't give a good suggestion for you... I have no sense of 'racism'. I've known too many different people from too many different cultures, and befriended them, to have any racist tendencies.

The only thing I can say is, don't make it into 'diversity for diversity's sake'. Too many are doing so, and it ruins everything it touches.

  6. Improve customer support. Finish the big 3's. (Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3) Add video chat, and conferencing. Find a way to replace TeamSpeak with something that doesn't inexplicably lag my internet connections.

You have found your way into the basement of EA's corporate offices, with a large supply of explosives/viruses/dead content in the room with you... What do you do with the opportunity?
