  1. I don't have any books that I would ever consider a 'guilty pleasure', as I am unashamed of any books I read. I will mention the books I wish I hadn't read though... All except for the first of the Battlefield Earth series. (the second and last one were half-OK, but the rest were all just weird sex, rape, and drugs)
  2. Trying to get as tired as possible.
  3. Star Trek Online...
  4. Procrastinating sleep is bad.
  5. Because of international (read USA) regulations on water consumption for shower heads. (currently regulated to a maximum of 2.5 gallons per minute, 9.5 LPM, down from the pre-1994 rates of 5.5 GPM)
  6. Don't forget the Hell March songs from the Command & Conquer Red Alert series... Some good game music there as well.
  7. Oh, and I refused to influence the console wars because both of them totally suck compared to an equivalently priced 'gaming' PC.
  8. +1 Just because it's high-rez, doesn't mean it's high quality. (resizing takes about 5 seconds, and helps massively)
  9. +1 Give "Kon Tiki" a read... Comes across as fiction in the way it's written, but is an actual documentation of historical events. (including the discovery of a new species of fish when they were just trying to survive a raft ride from South America to south-east Asia in the 1950's) Just read anything by Thor Heyerdahl for that matter. Also Clive Cussler has a rather decent list of non-fiction. Nautical related, but very good. (I recommend his books in general anyways) My favorite Science Fiction titles have to by Ben Bova. (just feels like the right combination of science, and future) [EDIT] Removed the -1 because clarification of the comment made it go away.
  10. Use your other hand to pull out on your wrist while relaxing the hurt arm's muscles, and then gradually turn it with the hand you're using to pull the injured hand. You should get a few pops or cracks, and a small amount of pain, but it should result in a much less painful normal operation of the limb.
  11. I think this is the least probable scenario. Who are we? - just an improvement on all the gradually developing intelligencies in the tree of life... from worms to fish to snakes to cats to us. What grounds are there to even think that our intelligence may be anything but an upgraded version of that of a tiger or a chimpanzee? Also, nature does not like jumps and unique things - it takes Mark I analogue brain and just adds to it incrementally... Regards Evolution is still just a theory, and as such has never been properly proven. Some people claim "it's as close as it gets", well guess what, it's not close enough to go around quoting it as fact. The real facts in this area are: WE HAVE NO F****** CLUE!!!
  12. So what game is "BG"? KOTOR and NWN are obvious since there aren't any other games that have those acronyms, but BG could mean any of a couple dozen games. (though seeing as you reference Bioware, I assume you mean the Baldur's Gate games)
  13. You got pictures of phones, I got pictures of drugs...
  14. Phishing.
  15. The Silpheed DOS game's soundtrack...
  16. A quick spritz of alcohol cleans up whiteboards like crazy.
  17. My glasses now make all rectangular objects skewed and trapezoidal at the same time.
  18. No Intel/AMD competition? Android. Nvidia. Cats. Dogs. Would also do both Coke and Pepsi, but I was 1 available vote short.
  19. I bet it wasn't as expensive as my new glasses though...
  20. Being flooded with nostalgia, and testing out my new glasses... I definitely need to get rid of the left lens, as it's distorting everything. (the right one is just fine, and actually massively improves everything visually)
  21. Interestingly enough, I have turned down quite a few veiled propositions... I can count over 50 just from my Freshman year at a charter school. (and yet I'm still a virgin, in a good way)
  22. Star Trek Online. [EDIT] Actually, I kinda zoned on this... I've been 'playing' a bunch of DOS games to get their DOSbox settings right. It really helps me to have the D-Fend Reloaded UI for it, thanks go to Ross for introducing me to something that makes DOS emulation a LOT simpler.
  23. The Silpheed DOS game soundtrack... My all-time favorite game soundtrack. There are many good soundtracks, but this is the best.
  24. I would have to say that this is my all-time favorite theme from any game... KF05wijJIHk
