Hence the Three Laws... Just build a decent AI to build the next gen AIs... Make it seem like a game to the first, then move to the second that already has the Three Laws built in, and you can throw away the original.

Deciding what to do with my evening.

I personally would've started off by disassembling the thing, and used its AI to build a better core. The thing was barely a toy the way it was constructed. Give its AI a nice digital playground, make it think programming is a form of game, and it'll make a nice AI with the Three Laws baked in.

It's that fake smile, and the "I just want to be your friend" in the cutesy voice. Really though, it was entirely the kid's fault.
