Star Trek Online again... Also torrenting Europa Universalis 4, because I want to see if it really does hit my strategy interest.

100% agree. The free Linux distros for PCs (that means not Android/Chromebook, or Red Hat, etc.) do seem to be avoiding going mainstream... It's so unfortunate. With the introduction of Vulkan, Linux would be a far superior OS for gaming, but none of the devs seem to want that.

There is however a limit to what our form of technology can do...
-
Willing to help in words only, not in actual development... As I said earlier, ask them to make a GUI for something like hardware settings, and they act like you're Hitler reincarnated.
-
It definitely does. Welcome to the ranks of criminals that never did anything wrong!

Myself... I'm testing out my microphone feeedback delay... Sounds around 20-25ms...
-
And I still have no idea what children's show they're bonding to now...

Actually, I have a similar issue... Unless I concentrate on remembering the dream as I'm opening my eyes, it fades immediately. It's some sort of neural trigger I think that resets your short-term video memory, and wipes out the dream storage.

I had 400mg acetaminophen, and 800mg ibuprofen. It isn't affecting anything for the next hour and a half.

Nah, it's just a lurker Lore. I finally regained my status of most prolific poster of the forum... It only took 2 years to gain the 8000 posts I got surpassed by during my 6 month ban. (Alyxx either cheated, or was a very active poster)

And headachey.

+1

You need to be raging at the laws that necessitate the takedown method, not the company that is pumping millions of dollars into trying to get it fixed so this sort of thing doesn't continue to happen.

I have a recurring headache... It's at the base of my skull, where it meets the spine, but it's inside the skull. It doesn't want to go away, and it's causing any number of other ill feelings. (like nausea, I can feel it originating in the headache)

What game universe do you want to live in?
BTGBullseye replied to Reverend_UshankaCat_'s topic in Gaming in general
You mind providing proof of that please? Last I saw, they were referencing it numerous times throughout the Fallout 4 campaign... -
Star Trek Online... They're completely revamping the skill system, and the new system looks awesome. It retains all complexity, but makes it a lot easier to understand, and more about specialization than previously. (an engineering focused tactical officer, and a tactical/science focused engineer is what I'm testing out on the Tribble server)

If you managed to get past security, didn't get caught, and it was from a Duty Free store, you're all good. Otherwise, you're technically a smuggler. Welcome to the dark side, care to take up piracy while you're here? (all you have to do is send someone a file that you don't explicitly own to join)

Do big name games get good ratings JUST because of big name?
BTGBullseye replied to Meelis13's topic in Gaming in general
I stopped when the walkthrough writers started posting to hack sites instead... (back in the late 90's) -

Or what the devs from back in the isometric days put in the games, because "Bethesda is killing the Fallout franchise!!!11!ONE!". -
Well, it's not just for video games, but most torrent sites have massive and 'ancient' libraries of stuff... Even if something isn't available anymore, you can usually find someone who downloaded it at some point that is willing to reupload it for you to get. Essentially making it a decentralized library of digital stuff. (and that's how people who frequent those sites tend to treat it)

How could I find a list of killed games because of EA?
BTGBullseye replied to Trevor Musial's topic in Gaming in general
Yeah, that list only deals with the online services that were shut down, not games killed by EA. (EA tried to kill Battlefield 2142, but someone made a private server for it, and it's still going) -
Help! Finding a game from my childhood!
BTGBullseye replied to TheGameIntersect's topic in Gaming in general
I know, I was merely stating the obvious. -
There's always a big problem with these kind of issues when talking about international confections... That is that the USA and certain other countries are mandated by law to use a different recipe. That's right, a Cadbury bar in the USA is not the same as one from the UK. (it'll even land you in jail for smuggling if you try to bring one into the USA from elsewhere) http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-31924912

I've tried Ububntu, (disgusting default UI, not a simple design to move to from 20+ years of Microsoft OSes) and Fedora... Was planning on trying Mint, but the power supply for my Linux box burned out, and I haven't the money to replace it yet. The biggest problem I have with existing distros is their inexplicable desire to keep every advanced setting locked into the command line only, and none of the devs will ever even consider making a GUI for it. (by the way they respond, it's like asking if you can eat their firstborn child)

I'll tell you this... At the time it was originally released, it was a great marvel of a game, but it hasn't aged as well as other games. I recommend trying to play through the others in the series before completely giving up on it.
