  1. So you're saying that you want a completely civilian workforce on all military bases in the mainland USA? (apart from taking away 99% of what the members of the military do outside of wartime, that would be a massive waste of already limited government funds)

Also, there is the Reserves to deal with, as they get the boot camp, monthly paycheck, and only spend a couple weeks on active duty each year unless there's a war. They have the normal military training without the extended active service most people are afraid of.

Ignore the lyrics, they're incorrect in multiple places.

I hear the voices echoing around me

Angered eyes that don't even know who I am

Looking to kill again (They will kill again)

As the unknown enemies surround me

Wicked laughter resonates inside my head

And I am filled with dread (And adrenaline)

What did I do? Why do I deserve this?

    So we're different,

why do I deserve to die now?

    Give my a reason why?

Then it all goes a blur

    Let instinct take flight

Find my hands on his throat

    Yet hear myself say

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

    So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

    Dead to everyone

A father's pride, my son walking beside me

I look around and marvel how the children play

    In perfect disarray (So innocent)

    No judgement, pure exhilaration

Black to white, the colors aren't on their minds

    Nothing predefined (All different)

There's always one who plants an evil seed and

Preaches fear to pull you to the other side

    Into a world of lies

Everything is unsure when you've lost your sight

Can there still be a cure?

    What made you this way?

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

    So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

    Dead to everyone

    (You're not anyone)

    Oh

    Lost all innocence

    Infected and arrogant

    You burn all your life

    (There's no telling you)

    No deliverance

    Consumed by the pestilence

    Of hate, you're denied

Deep in your heart does it still remain?

Do you think you can bring it

    Back to life again?

Is it still in your soul?

    (No saving you)

    Where's the deviant

    The unholy revenant

That has made you this way?

Made you fall for this hate

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

    So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

    (You become)

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

    So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

    (You become)

    Dead to everyone

    (You're not anyone)

  3. @Vappy: Aw. I won't stop breathing. ^_^ Don't worry.

I do have a slightly worse problem now though. X3 Does anyone know how to ease the uncomfortableness of an upset stomach? I feel like I'm 8 years old again, coming back from a party about to sick up on the kitchen floor or some shit. XD It's not so great... Doesn't feel too good. And no amount of stomach clutching or curling up is helping at the moment.

You can try Ginger Ale, and/or lemon-lime soda. I personally like lemon-lime with 30% water for my vomit-resistance booster. (it gives me a +8 vomiting resistance for 2-4 hours, and only costs about 80 copper!)

  4. I'd be in favor of a form of enlistment that inviolably agrees to never place you in or near combat. It'd be like regular enlistment except there's zero chance of you being infantry. You'd be a chef, or a mechanic, or a clerk or just about anything else. If your unit gets sent overseas you get moved to someplace else in the States, or in your state, or city or whatever the best they can do is.

Some sort of base garrison maybe? Instead of being tied to a unit you're tied to the facility.

And of course it would never be mandatory.

That's firmly in the 'military contractor' category... There are over 100k jobs that fall in that category.

  5. Whenever I see those I often wonder how many of them are actually young teens with misguided notions and how many are undercover police baiting potential predators. I mostly say this because my two 13 year old cousins and my 14 year old cousin all don't even act remotely like that. Though that's not a very big demographic to go off of heh.

It doesn't help that sex is pretty much everywhere you look now-a-days. On magazines, you see women barely dressed... television will show off all kinds of things... music today is absolutely horrendous, like goodness me - the amount of pop music, the most popular kind of music, that has something to do with sex is WAY too high for my liking. The future of the teenagers and kids today really rely on education and parenting. Sex ed classes are a must, no matter who or where. You can be aware of sex and not have to do it. Some parents try to keep their kids far away from it, thinking that ignorance will solve their problems. But no, it'll make it worse.

Also I'm sure the mere concept of using "virginity" as an insult has done nothing but fuel the mad dash to lose it as quick as possible.

    +1

Especially the 'virginity' stuff. So many seem to think that it means that someone is incapable of getting someone, when more often than not they just want to wait for the right person, or at least someone that isn't infested with STDs.

  6. I like many parts of Thanksgiving, but there are 2 I loathe...

    1. Dishes. I almost always end up getting roped into doing dishes after doing a lot of the cooking.

    2. Crowds. My sister's house is the only one big enough to accommodate my immediate family, and she tends to invite many others in addition, so it's usually very loud, and is talk about things completely uninteresting to me. (essentially: boring + noisy)

Christmas is similar, but at least there are presents to make up for it.
