  1. I've had the application machine going for a year now... I have gotten called back a whopping 2 times for over 200 applications. 1 of them said I was overqualified for a computer repair position, and they didn't want me to embarrass the owner who had been repairing computers professionally for 15 years. The other ended up with me showing up for the interview, then finding out they had already filled the position a week earlier. (they only told me that AFTER the interview, and they had called me early that morning sounding like it was urgent that I get in for the interview ASAP)

In short, I don't like interviews, applications, or even modern jobs.

  2. @BTG Hope that was fun. :3

I take it you're talking about the system building... It was, despite the lack of actually having the hardware to play with. I managed to get a $1500 gaming build that would probly do 95% of modern games at 45 FPS while using maximum settings. The other builds all use a GTX 980 (or two) instead of the 960.

  3. While I love Simon and Garfunkel's version, David Draiman's performance deserves an ovation. They got the feel of the song perfectly, and more.

    Agreed.

chills down my spine after 2:30

Very nice. No chills, but it's been a long while since I've heard that style of music. (and I do love it)

  4. Sound of Silence - Disturbed

    Turned out pretty damn good.

I'm now listening to this album... I think Disturbed really captured the feeling of the original song, which is extremely rare for modern covers of classics. I think they did so well because they liked the original so much. (unlike so many cover bands, who take a popular classic and change it to what they want to have it feel like)

  5. Played with casuals, and you're more competitive maybe?

OT: Making a couple gaming builds based on the new i5-6600k processor. First build comes in at $2777. ASUS RoG motherboard, ASUS ROG 2k monitor w/G-SYNC, ASUS Hybrid Cooling (air and water) GTX 980, Patriot Blast 960GB SSD, 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 DDR4 RAM @ 2400MHz, water cooling system.

Next build I'm going to aim at maximum gaming performance for under $1500, and then maybe just a complete overkill gaming system. (both based on the Skylake processors)
