It's the accordion that does that. Why some people hate the instrument so much is beyond me. Sure there are some uses that make it totally suck, (example, some polka, excluding anything by Weird Al) but there are many others that can make it a centerpiece of a great piece of music. +1 most upbeat ever vote.

Preparing to head to bed...

In relation to my last post here, still not feeling too great in regards to my Mom, but I did decide to wait it out a bit longer. At least until after my 1-week trip to Philadelphia to see the Pope.

I think I've met him... He searched for 'language', but only got poor translated insults, which explains why his witty comments are unreadable. On the upside, his insults are high praise!

Primary immigration issue in the USA is people crossing the border illegally from Mexico, not learning the language, and still being allowed to vote in our elections. There are a lot of problems with the way the current system handles illegal immigration. There are even more problems with the legal immigration process. (which is why crossing illegally is so popular) Let's touch on the legal system for immigration first. The legal system for immigration from another country to the USA requires you to obtain permission from the country you are leaving and a full background check. This is a problem for a LOT of people, as they simply don't have enough money to immigrate legally. (or have a record) Once they've paid off their own country's officials and have reached the USA, then they have a much easier time. There are only a few minor things they have to do to get citizenship. They need to learn at least some of the English language, and memorize a pledge, and sign a lot of paperwork. Then they're done. Illegally, they have to go to a Coyote, and agree to pay $5000 or so by a certain date. That's it. You can see why illegal immigration is an issue. The illegals could be mass murderers, or drug runners, or just Joe Somebody trying to make a living or provide for their family, but we'll never know for sure. In addition, they provide a glut of underpaid laborers, which not only removes an entire section of jobs from availability for citizens, but also rewards those employers that break the law for underpaying and pocketing the change. I have nothing against illegals and think they should be given the opportunity to become citizens, there is a method in place right now specifically for this and it works great, but those that come here and break the law or don't even try to become citizens should be ejected from the country. (and non-citizens shouldn't be allowed to vote either)

Playing Pillars of Eternity right now.

Spock is acting captain, buying relatively obscure knockoff dated microchips, wearing unbleached wigs.

That was just a couple weeks ago... Remember when the Q first existed?

Deus Ex. Hard to miss that one. Unfortunately I am unable to think of any game quotes at this time, someone else think of and post one for me.

Pillars of Eternity. Quite a fun game, and a good story. Tons of potential, but limited to level 12 or 14 if you have the DLC, only 3 types of enchanting, only 3 types of crafting, and can't enchant anything except weapons/shields and primary armor. They really focused on the pauseable real-time combat, and spell system though. (it feels very smooth, and I definitely like it) I wish there were more like this, or an easy way to mod this to include more item customization capabilities. (and unlock the level limits, add new spells, etc.) [EDIT] For more accurate description.

It would take a very long time to describe accurately how the system knows where it stores what it stores, but there is a fairly simple analogy for it... Imagine your RAM as a row of houses on each street, each house has an address, and those addresses never change. The RAM controller acts like the post office, and sends and receives the information for specific addresses. This is an incredibly simple way of looking at the physical RAM addressing system, but it tends to be quite effective. How it stores the information is difficult to describe, but think of it as a set of on/off switches that change only if they get a signal sent to them, and they stay in that configuration until sent another signal. Looking up diagrams for Random Access Memory construction might help you concerning these questions. As for how the CPU knows what to do with the RAM, now you're getting into the programming aspect of things. I recommend looking up information about the Assembly language, as it is the primary language used by the CPU, and it deals heavily with memory operations. (when you hear someone say that binary is 'machine code' they know nothing about modern computer systems, it's all hexadecimal opcodes in the Assembly language)

Too bad that isn't a manned mission, and asking for colonists...

Sounds like you have a similar issue as me, color spectrum sensitivity. Your eye is overly sensitive to certain colors. Most people have slightly better sensitivity to red in the left eye, and blue in the right, but occasionally it is more pronounced. This issue is the main reason I stopped using anaglyph glasses decades ago, and am looking forward to stuff like the Oculus Rift.

Never have flashbacks. Ever. If it was found that luck, and several other beneficial statuses were found to actually be viruses in real life?

Actually, it's from SPAZ. (Space Pirates and Zombies) Yours is from The Getaway. "Ga la lung...."
