That's the whole reason I stopped using it.

Fallout New Vegas... I think I've finally ironed out 99% of the mod conflicts, so I made a quick mod adding a high-powered recharger rifle and pistol that have the alien blaster disintegration effect, are silent, and have 3 mods apiece. Also adding a modified version of the Advanced Recon gear. (it's modding of a mod time!)

If anyone's truly interested, I might post some of my stories, but last time I did I got singled out because it's related to religion... So ask, and I'll post, otherwise I request moving on to something that won't make intolerant people come to this thread just to complain about me.

Androids: Humans or Machines?
BTGBullseye replied to BidetoftheDead's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
I don't care about the body... The mind and soul determine humanity. It could be some box on a desk somewhere, but it could still be human. This would require at least a 'shackled' AI. (as it was described in the Mass Effect series) -
I'd say don't go for anything higher-end than a Pentium 2 700MHz processor for Windows 98... (I've run into problems getting newer/faster processors to run right in 98) If you're wanting DOS-only, definitely drop to the original Pentium at 120MHz. Memory isn't really important for DOS, but you may need to tweak your autoexec.bat to free up all the 640k base memory. (for those really high-end games like Great Naval Battles) I HIGHLY recommend getting a Soundblaster 16 audio card, as it will MASSIVELY improve the sound quality in 90% of DOS games. (the other 10% used Tandy instead) Now if you're wanting primarily early Windows based gaming, you should get at least a GeForce 6200, (should be able to do anything in an old system without being difficult when trying to get older stuff to run) and 128MB of RAM. Any generic sound card will do for Windows gaming. You can also go for a generic 4:3 or 5:4 LCD as long as it has a VGA connection, and use a generic VESA driver for DOS games, but still be able to run Windows above 800x600 resolution. (I personally recommend having 1600x1200 @60Hz available, as Windows games always looked WAY better at higher resolutions) HDD really doesn't matter as long as it's 120GB or less, but be sure to defrag it immediately after installing everything, and then again weekly. (for any week that you actually use the system) Finally, 98 or 98SE? They are quite different under the hood, and 98SE can do a lot better with newer hardware/software, but at the cost of older hardware/software compatibility and stability. (it also uses more system resources, so you might need to deal with having to free up IRQs) Can you tell that I have experience? lol

Not particularly. Some are good, (these tend to be movies that aren't based on any prior art) but the typical style is just too stupid feeling for me to like the mainstream stuff. (10 minute charge up for a hit and the enemy doesn't bother moving, humor that isn't funny, etc) Do you plan on purchasing Fallout 4? (or have you already?)

Just reinstalled Fallout NV because there was some very strange error that prevented me from overwriting a custom mesh... Was causing skin texture problems for all female NPCs and completely prevented the Willow mod from loading anything but the head. (still don't know what caused it) Now installing some mods. (over 100 total mods, probly really close to the 135 plugin limit) Also, heading to bed.

*disclaimer, I've had the Meteora album in my library for several years* Not a bad rendition, but I prefer the TSO version. OT: GPv0ZQrq5O4

Getting ready to try and fix a model bug from modding Fallout New Vegas.

That's why you're here... Most of us couldn't give two shits about social skill. Interestingly, I have tons of skill in that department, and can talk your ear off, but I just don't like to without first knowing what kind of person you are. (the internet is a great barrier to prevent any awkwardness)

Because it's fun...

You can do a single 960 now, and add a second later on to double the performance... (what I'm planning if they don't come out with better before I start my personal build) 960 SLI at 8x/8x is just slightly lower performance (a couple FPS difference at most, and some games will actually do better under the SLI) than a single 980. (and supported by that moboard) The issue with the 970 is that if the VRAM gets filled to 3.5GB (quite possible on modern games at higher settings) it will drop the framerate to under 15 FPS because it causes a glitch.
