  1. “Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love – they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.”

  2. Concerning water, I had a dream a very long time ago where the buildings were floating across a bottomless ocean, mostly vacant. No sky oriented light, a light fog across the surface of the water, and an undefinable ambient light. (like in a video game, unnaturally able to see in shadowed and dark areas despite no illumination, looks like about candlelight illumination levels everywhere)

Now, I start 'inside' one of these ruined buildings, which was quite obviously a residence, as it had a bed, a bathroom, (almost completely intact) a kitchen area with a functional sink, and some closets. (everything else was rubble) I remember turning on the faucet in the 'kitchen' and seeing cold water come out purple, and hot water coming out neon orange. (both perfectly normal water though, apart from the color) Also, there were small gas pipes (¼ inch diameter, 1 inch from the wall, then 90° bend to straight up for 4-6 inches) protruding from remaining wall sections that had lit flames coming from them... The flame was a blue/purple in color.

After taking stock of my 'building', I notice movement on another nearby wreck, and try to yell to get their attention. Unfortunately, the new laws of physics muffle my voice the same way ultra-dense fog does, so it only carries for a few dozen yards before fading into oblivion. Recognizing this, I start looking for something I can use as a paddle, only to find a working motor under some rubble, which is capable of propelling the building in whatever direction I want at around 1-2 knots.

As I approach the island that had movement, I notice it has two people, one male, one female... Both around 17 years old, and apparently siblings. (bear in mind that when I had this dream, I was 6 or 7 years old, and saw myself at that age) After 'docking' with their island, I start asking them what's going on, why the water's purple, and why sound is muffled. They don't know either, but they had seen several other islands moving in the distance, but theirs just didn't have any propulsion. So I volunteer my propulsion to get us around to find someone who might know more.

This is where everything gets fuzzy, as I was slowly waking, and the dream was losing cohesion...

I remember us approaching a very large (looked like a destroyed 80's era school building) that had blood stains on a few of its remaining walls and no lighting of any kind, and I grabbed a jagged pipe for defense. The other two cowered on the island, with the boy holding a 6-shot snub nose of some kind. I told him to stay put and guard the island, and then proceeded slowly into the wreckage. I went in about 20 feet, and was grabbed. As I was being dragged off, I remember hearing the girl scream, as the islands were leaving. (they were running) I remember passing out, and then waking sort of in what looked like the Oblivion realm from Elder Scrolls 4, what with the hanging corpses and all.

    And then I woke up.

I remember that the first time I played Oblivion and got to the Oblivion realm, I seriously thought to myself "this looks just like that dream I had that one time". lol

I just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep without drawing (can you tell that I suck at mouse drawing?) and posting this image of the kitchen area from this dream. Imagine a MUCH younger me (6 years old) standing in front of the sink. This is practically a rat's-eye view, but it's the sort of 3rd person I get in dreams. (cinematic style) Bear in mind that when I dream I get both this cinematic 3rd person, and a 1st person view, simultaneously.

  3. I did that frequently... Now I just torrent the discography of the artist if I hear a song of theirs I like, and peruse it for gems, then delete the rest. (currently trying to make my way through the Xzibit collection just because of LAX)

Remember when this site didn't even run half the time, and the other half it was too slow to post anything?

  4. If you need a last-pass editor's look at it, I'm available. I can also provide detailed pointers on certain areas I think you can improve on. (wording, sentence structure, etc.) The story is really good despite it's issues, and kept me interested. (that's saying something, since I don't read past the first few pages if I'm not interested)
