  1. I'd say "truth" is how things really are, when observed by someone with full knowledge of everything.

    Agreed.

But the sad thing is people see 'no-truth' as wrong. :I

That's because ultimately it's not about abstract truth but is simply a power game. The declared beliefs are only a symbol of allegiance to one group or the other and those who are not with them are against them. But then people who truly believe in something are caught in the middle :-(

It's extremely unfortunate isn't it. I know I've been guilty of leaning that way on occasion, it's human nature to do so, but I do my best to prevent it from coming out.

  2. I thought this was going to be a graphics overhaul as well, but it doesn't appear to be.

It uses Filip Victor's graphics mod... It's been updated since it's initial release.

Finally something to replace the god-awful Cinematic Mod.

There are some good, and some bad aspects to the Cinematic Mod, but to say it's "god-awful" is a massive depreciation of the author's [considerable] time and coding to try and bring the graphics of an old game into this decade. The Cinematic Mod also includes a utility so you can pick and choose what parts of the mod to enable... He included that because he knows that some people don't like his new trees, or character models, or weapon models, or etc., but that most would enjoy the other updated aspects of the mod. (like the combined maps to reduce loading screens, or the lighting overhaul, etc.)

  3. So, this might be old news, but is anyone else unable to change their avatar or personal details?

I was the first to report it, but nobody else seems to be confirming it so that the site devs know that it's a site-wide problem instead of just with my system. REPORT ISSUES PEOPLE, OR THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S BROKEN!!!

  4. M16A2. just a fucking awesome weapon.

The Kel-Tec RDB (5.56mm NATO version) and RFB (7.62mm NATO version, I prefer 7.62 variants for most firearms) are far superior, as is the Tavor... Even the Bushmaster ACR series is better.

I'm going to post more info about these guns in the thread for it in the Serious Topics thread, because I'm interested now.

  5. As for Elite: Dangerous, it's kinda hard to say. You have to REALLY like space to play it(And I REALLY like space). I have the game and it's mechanics are rock solid. Controls are tight and feel great, and there's a lot you can do... but it feels like it needs more. I know they're still developing it and they have a long list of things they want to implement so you're probably better off waiting anyways.

I hear a lot of people mentioning that game, but they all refuse to even try Starpoint Gemini 2... (from what I've seen SPG2 is a better game overall)

  6. I saw the screenshots of the de-yellow mod. They definitely reduced it, but it still pervaded everything to some extent.

That's because 90% of the lights and textures are some version of yellow... Not unrealistic when it comes to actual observations I've made of the real-world areas they use in the game.

I don't really know about World Youth Day, I've been very busy for a while now, haven't really had any time to go do excursions.

Well, it's over a year away, so you have plenty of time to decide if you want to give it a go... You don't have to be Catholic to go, or to enjoy the event.

Personally, I am not interested in this kind of events at all.

Because of the religious nature of the event, or because of the crowds? (I am not fond of crowds myself, but I can't pass up the opportunity to see the historical sights)

Huh. I googled 'World Youth Day', clicked the Wiki link, and AVG popped up with a Blackhat threat.

    Such a threat... lol

If it's a for-real issue, you need to get your computer checked as there are no problems with the site.
