Affordable Care Act - Discussion
BTGBullseye replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Yeah, they have the choice of joining, or paying a fee in their taxes... What a choice. From a mini-poll that occurred at my county social services office by the workers there, 100% of the people that don't sign up for Obamacare in this county are not wanting the government to have that much control over their lives. (that's the words of the people that aren't signing up, not the employees) Many people don't want to be forced to pay for health insurance. They would rather pay IF they have medical bills, not pay for other's medical bills and for care they don't need. (and I'm one of them) -
There are many aspects of why I believe that any fetus is a person, only one of which is religious. I will not include the religious reason. 1. As soon as the first cell division occurs, that is the indicator that barring outside influence or illness, there will be another human in a couple months. 2. Killing a human before it's fully developed is still ending a human life. 3. Fetuses are fully capable of thought and memory by the age of 8 weeks. (around the same time their sense of touch develops) 4. Fetuses begin 'breathing' at 9 weeks. (it isn't actual breathing, there is no air in there) 5. Fetuses are moving their eyes at 14 weeks, and have complex eye movements at 24 weeks. 6. Fetuses are moving on their own, without external stimuli, at 16 weeks. 7. Fetuses are able to feel pain at 17 weeks. 8. Fetuses are able to recognize sounds at 20 weeks. 9. Fetuses are sucking their thumbs at 20 weeks. (this is also when you first get a glimpse of whether they will be a righty or lefty) 10. I have personally seen fetuses that were removed for incubation at 8 weeks (for medical reasons) respond to external stimuli intelligently as they were being removed. 11. There are a LOT of people in the US that want to adopt, and they're going overseas just to find them, because there aren't enough available in the US. Adoption is a much better option than murder IMO. There is only one reason I have been able to find that it would be appropriate to perform an abortion... That is if it would cause the death of the mother and/or child to do anything else.

Exactly. When I lived in arizona, I saw a few of them take off flying backwards... Landed that way too. Mind boggling if you aren't well versed in physics, but still an amazing sight to watch some idiot nearly take off just trying to taxi to the runway. lol Faster and more maneuverable carriers = much easier aircraft launches.

If it does this normally, without government regulation, then this is actually not a bad thing. If it's because of government regulation, (like in China) it is a bad thing. We're at 7.227 billion people on the planet, and that number is rising by ~1.5 every second... http://www.census.gov/popclock/ If it continues the way it has been, we'll be at 8 billion by the end of the decade. (7.25 by the end of either this or next year)

A $60 shirt weighs 32lbs?! It better be made of steel!

You'd have to find a really strong encouragement, like free electric cars or something... You won't get many people to switch with anything less.

Affordable Care Act - Discussion

So you're saying that providing actual numbers that show that around 30% of people that should be on this program actually are, is nitpicking? Definition of nitpicking: looking for small or unimportant errors or faults, especially in order to criticize unnecessarily. I honestly think there is something wrong with the program when over 2/3 of the eligible people aren't even signing up for it. -
Gonna torrent it to try... Sounds extremely interesting though. (especially if there are a variety of weapons/armor and characters to choose from)

Do you also pronounces it Fro-drick?

How about this article? http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2015/02/26/4-simple-and-objective-ways-to-tell-if-obamacare-is-working/ -

And that's where your entire plan falls apart... People in general don't want to sacrifice. The curtailing of freedom in such an obvious and pervasive way will not only get your ideas crucified by the populace, but may get you some very serious threats to your life if you actually got it to go far enough for a vote.

All found. I'm not going to bother posting the locations since it's 4:30 AM... lol

Everyone was fine with it until we assaulted a 5 story building, and I cleared the top 3 levels before anyone even got into cover on the first floor... Everyone assaulting behind me was sprinting to keep up with my massive killing spree. I made 11 out of the 15 total kills, and all but 2 of them were before any other weapons were fired. That's when the consensus shifted to my character needing to stop being so powerful. Apart from being overbuilding the character because I do that sort of thing, I had no issues. (I never showed any bias for my character, I just had way too much build time in it) -
Canned soups and ramen noodles are very resilient. MREs if you can get them. Any kind of jerky would work well. Ok. Good.
