  1. I don't really like watching Streams. X3 Sorta boring for me. I prefer the nicely edited and perfected videos. IMO, Streams are just full of people trying to figure out how to get past a game, then not succeeding, then crying, then getting angry. And I don't find people's anger funny like other people do. But ah well! Other people enjoy it, so they can go ahead and have fun. I won't ruin it.

    +1

  2. Irrelevant.

No it isn't, as the US government is gearing up in a way it never has before for a war with it's citizens. It is currently in the 'popular support' phase, where they try to get as many people as possible to give up their freedoms willingly, and get as many people as possible to support the removal of any restrictions on the government doing what it wants.

Your statement implies that you think, that I think, that they wouldn't even make an attempt to hide the fact that they are turning into a totalitarian regime. (which is not even close to reality)

They wouldn't. There is literally no way that they could do that without causing a second civil war in no time at all. Do you really think that every US soldier/National Guardsman would follow the order to turn the US into a Chile style dictatorship?

I think we're well on the way towards one anyways, and the government does too. They're preparing to make either a first strike, or to make the most powerful counterstrike they can. If they make a first strike, they can blame it on intel they gathered from the NSA about a massive coordinated terrorist assault on the country. (the military would likely accept that reason for the first 3-6 months) If a counterstrike, they would probably bill it as a massive coordinated terrorist assault on the country, and implement martial law, then keep it in place 'to make sure they got all of the terrorists'. (we were very close to doing that right after 9/11)

  3. As far as the technical questions go, my favorite mic for vocals is the Electrovoice RE20. They are pretty pricey though so you might want to try one out at some local place before you buy. It is fairly common here in the US in radio and tv stations so you could call around and see if any local stations have one you could try. It is great at ignoring background noise.

Yes, another good mic. (and expensive too... lol)

  4. (1) Humans cannot hear the difference in quality levels above redbook CD ( 44.1kHz 16-bit ). You're probably not claiming this (I don't know) so please forgive me if I'm being rude.

One of the main problems with that assumption (which is untrue of a large portion of humans, typically called audiophiles) is that most people have never had audio equipment capable of performing most audio above 192k MP3 quality. (or for that matter ever hearing anything better than CD-A in an audio-only environment) Most PC sound cards need to be manually adjusted so they won't resample down to 16-bit/44.1kHz, and most of them have either cheap stereo speakers or really poor quality headphones. I, personally, can pick out the difference between any sample rate up to 96kHz at any bit depth, and at any sample rate determine the difference in bit depth. (I have the use of decent headphones, and have altered the quality settings for my sound card) It may seem like there's nothing in the extra area to those that can't or haven't had the equipment to perceive it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. For me personally, it can mean the difference between getting a headache after 3 hours of listening, and not getting a headache at all.

Another problem is that many people will try to use a musical comparison, but use a version of the music that was designed for an audio CD, not for vinyl or DVD-A. (DVDs primarily use 24-bit 48kHz for movies now because a LOT of people CAN hear the difference, blu-rays even bottom out at 48kHz because of it) The problem with this is, many studios mix the studio masters down (called remastering) intentionally cutting out anything that can't be used by the intended format, so as to prevent distortions and noise. After it has been remastered for a CD, it won't matter what format you put it in, it will always sound the same as or worse than a CD.

And the last reason I am going to put out here... Most people can't tell the difference, not because they can't percieve it, but because they don't recognize it for what it is. (kinda like a lot of people being told for a very long time that they couldn't percieve above 60Hz refresh rate on their monitors, but then slowly realizing that most COULD see a difference up to about 100Hz, and a few up above 120Hz) Recognition come through exposure, and most are never exposed long enough to recognize it.

I am willing to continue to provide information on this subject if you would like, but I'd rather take it in a dedicated thread in the Serious Topic section. Just make a thread there, and I'll respond.

  5. - I love being in forums, but I'm fairly sure I'm cursed, as every forum I've been on eventually withers and dies. I admit I'm worried about what'll happen to Accursed Farms now...I won't blame you if you kick me off here as a precaution.

Eh... You can't possibly be as cursed as me... I get to be famous on a site, and everyone leaves. (excluding this site, as I'm already the most famous here apart from Ross himself, though not necessarily the most popular)

  6. ASUS, why did you make your phone so damn hard to manually update? Forcing me to completely wipe the phone, unbrick it, try 3 different ways to install it, and then re-root the thing is not pleasant. Other than that, it's a great phone. lol

  7. Why yes, lower population density = less traffic = less uh, car accidents and motor accidents.

The thing is, if you're in the US, 90% of those accidents happen in heavy traffic and on major roadways. Very few involve motorcycles.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_safety#Accident_rates

You'd have to be very unlucky to be in an accident, unless you are breaking the rules of the road, or drunk. (I think you're both smart and lucky enough to avoid that, even if you do decide to sit in rush hour traffic on your motorcycle)

OT: Reinstalling everything on my phone. Had to completely wipe the phone to unbrick it after a firmware update failed, then force install the update that failed, (had to try 3 different ways before I found one that worked) and now I just finished rooting it again. Now to reinstall all my pirated apps, and emulators. (I know I've lost my save games already)

  8. So please tell me, how do I make something touching?

Don't write it with me in mind. ;)

Honestly, make it real... Something that actually makes sense happening in real life without requiring ANY stretch of the imagination. If there is even the slightest bit of unreality to it, it won't work. (unless you build an entire universe in the story, one where the story's reality fits perfectly)

  9. Unreliable.

In what way? Just because you don't like what I say, or because I have somehow repeatedly lied without knowing about it?

It was not the same plan, it was a plan to confiscate firearms in the event that civil order has collapsed and the military needs to restore order ASAP. If you actually listened to your own source you'd realize that.

    You're assuming 2 things.

    1. That I ever said they were planning on doing it without first declaring martial law.

    2. That the USA won't ever declare martial law in an oppressive manner, like any tyrannical government would.
