I guarantee I can handle anything thrown my way. (I've had to clean some mighty nasty stuff off second-hand HDDs I've gotten over the years, and I know that a few of them can't be topped) -

And therein lies the problem, it's not just intentions, but how you go about acting on the intentions. It's quite obvious that we don't have the words in the English language to accurately depict the difference.

You haven't been reading my posts if you haven't seen me post any sources. I however have gone back and looked at each of yours and found minimal citations, and what you do cite intentionally avoids anything except your side of the argument, even going so far as to omit pieces of information in some. (most of what you post is also media overhyped news on relatively unimportant or irrelevant issues) Funny... I was thinking the same thing about you. I don't stop trying to explain my opinion in a civil and logical manner though. Attempting to insult people for not believing what you tell them to doesn't help. Now that's something I do agree with... I however am not above acknowledging that human nature is to destroy or enslave people who won't fight back. (I am also not above voicing my desire to destroy or imprison the individuals who would and do try to do that)

On the contrary, I have never said anything of the sort. The closest I have ever come to that is my statement that I sometimes have trouble translating complex ideas into understandable writing. You haven't provided any evidence to correlate gun possession by non-criminal civilians to civilian casualties in the USA. There is never any room to sling mud, unless you are intent on violating the forum rules. First off, to which issue are you referring? There are several we have discussed over the last few pages. Second, your evidence is a few incidents with no correlation that I can see to any of the issues we've discussed here. Except that the way you did it is in violation of rule #2 of this forum. (viewtopic.php?p=13&f=18#p13) If it was even halfway funny instead of nothing but a blatant attempt at an insult towards the intelligence of people with an opinion that differs from your own, it wouldn't be an issue. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/racism Read #3 or #2 of the British definition. Racism can be used against anyone, regardless of who's in charge. In many respects it seems logical, if the government didn't have any control over it. We've already seen what happens when Sheriff's offices are in control of Concealed Carry licenses. You get some counties that do it right, and you can get your license in about 3-5 weeks for a very low cost. (in SD it costs $10, takes 1 week to get your temporary, and 3 more weeks for the permanent) You also get some other counties that take 6-24 months to do the same exact background check, and costs hundreds of dollars. (two neighboring counties in CO; one will have a 3-5 week waiting period and a $50 charge, the other will charge $150 and force you to wait a minimum of 9 months) Incidentally, the Concealed Carry background check is identical to the one that firearm sellers manage to complete in under 30 minutes, just so they can sell you a gun. (they don't sell to felons, ever) It's the reason that the 2nd Amendment was put in place the way it is... To prevent a corrupt or tyrannical government from restricting firearms to the general populace. As it stands currently, it has been deemed unconstitutional to require either registration or licensing to own firearms in the USA. (and that will never change unless they manage to remove the 2nd Amendment, which WILL result in civil war)

Some skirts are nice, others not so much... It depends both on the woman wearing it, and on the style of skirt. I dislike any style that restricts the woman's movements. (if she is physically incapable of running in an emergency, that is restricted movement) I'm all about practicality over 'style'.

Balance, and they're video games, they're not supposed to be realistic. Nice random.

So you're thinking something like a personality profile in addition to a background check? You would be surprised at the number of gun stores that won't sell you a gun until you have taken a firearms training course from their shop, or demonstrated your understanding of firearm safety when handling the display models. Also, most new guns come with a secure safety locking system, so proving that you have somewhere safe to store those is moot. This is the lock that is included with Ruger handguns, and how it is intended to be used. The problem with that is that it violates the freedom of an individual. As long as they haven't committed a crime, it is illegal to surveil them in that fashion.

Bees are fun but peas are more edible... I'll go with the one that scares people away when they fly up to you to say "Hi, how are ya?". Snickers Bars or Snickers Ice Cream Bars?

Makeup is one thing I find both attractive, (when used in very small amounts for enhancing natural features) and hideous. (whenever someone puts too much makeup on) I much prefer it when someone is confident enough to not use makeup at all. (excessive makeup is a common sign of insecurity about physical appearance)

Send me a link, and I can tell you just how it would react to forum rules. (I have experience dealing with image-related rules) -
Agreed. OT: Being hungry, slightly tired, and bored. I want to watch good movies, or play a non-boring game, but I can't. (right now, every game is boring to me)
-
Why do games always drop the damage of weapons whenever you put a suppressor on them? It doesn't do that for actual guns... Only subsonic ammo causes that. (and military units don't use subsonics because they have a nasty habit of not killing people unless the barrel is pressed against the base of their skull)

Sorry, I don't think I can help you.

The least they can do is hire someone who knows the basics of propaganda, there are plenty of them around.

True, which is why we need a program that actually teaches kids about firearms, and the safety rules concerning them at a young age. (I know I'll be starting any of my kids learning the rules at age 4, and firing an actual gun as soon as they are ready) The problem with this is that it really doesn't matter how many legal restrictions occur with guns, as criminals don't follow them. There is a huge black market for firearms in the USA, and they don't care if you intend to commit a crime with them or not. Most criminals know how to get firearms from these black market sources, and it's remarkably rare for them to get a firearm through legal means. (put as many laws in place as you want, the number of criminals that use guns will not significantly drop in this country) It does appear that way, but at least you are willing to try to discuss it civilly with us.

You seem to have a completely different opinion on who has to provide evidence when I say that exact thing (although I do so with a lot less hostility) to others... (as does ThePest179) You should learn to discuss different opinions civilly instead of arguing violently against anything you don't like. And I could say the same to you. Although, I would much rather you didn't as you are only arguing in a violent manner when a civil debate will do quite nicely. (though I am doubtful you are capable of such a feat at this point) And why are you so against analysis of information to extrapolate that which isn't said? (the 'begging the question crap' as you put it) It's not something new, as it's been going on for centuries, and in recent decades has been refined well enough to accurately determine everything from political affiliation, to alcoholism, to pregnancy, to sexual orientation, to your favorite foods, or even the clothing you wear, all using nothing but location metadata from an individual's phone. (the NSA is doing it right now) How about the freedom to not have everything I say in a phone call or e-mail monitored... (that was ruled as covered under the 4th Amendment, and is being violated thoroughly by the NSA right now) Or have my metadata collected so that someone can know more about my life and preferences than I decide to make public. http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/fourth_amendment and http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxiv (section 1) and https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/01/effs-game-plan-ending-global-mass-surveillance Freedom of religion is suppressed in almost every school (including government-run public schools) and college campus in the USA. (and you frequently can get harassed if you aren't a democrat that is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, and anti-gun) http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/first_amendment Those are two that have directly affected me in recent years, but that doesn't mean that I don't care about the MANY other violations that have taken place. They don't have to affect me directly right now for it to be wrong, and make me want to stop it. (and there are many who feel the same way) My financial situation is not relevant to this discussion. Also, simply being unemployed isn't enough to qualify for unemployment. (contrary to what many seem to believe) You first have employment duration and wage limits that you have to meet, and then you have to lose your job through no fault of your own. (like a layoff) Most companies have devised ways of avoiding these qualifications, including falsifying performance records. (just look at IBM for innovative ways to cut 30+ year employees out of their pensions and unemployment benefits) In addition, it only lasts for a few weeks, during which there are stringent rules to keeping those benefits concerning how you go about searching for a new job. On the contrary, the money is paid by the company you were fired from. It passes through the government, yes, but it originates at the company. (hence why companies would rather fire you without reason before 90 days, or after 90 days with a crappy performance review) This is a unique feature of the US version of unemployment benefits. (it doesn't work this way anywhere else that I can tell) If the government wasn't trying to tax the hell out of domestic companies, and giving massive tax breaks to companies that use H1B employees in our high paying fields, (tens of thousands of jobs that would be over 50k/yr for domestic workers are under 20k/yr for H1B employees who don't pay taxes or contribute to the US economy beyond the food they buy) most of the 46.5m people on foodstamps could actually work a full-time job at a decent wage... Hows that for a fix for 2 problems. (unemployment, and subsistence on the government just to survive) I most certainly would be for change that would allow me to get work in a field that I have knowledge in, besides burger flipping. (over 8 years of IT work in a private setting for numerous small businesses and individuals, as well as extensive private computer related experience going back over 20 years, plus a year of welding in college)

You're saying that because the media is saying that it's the biggest issue in modern history, that it must be true?
