  1. Damn phone numbers can't undelete themselves!
  2. Pipe bombs, most other explosives, (99% of which are unregulated, and I know of at least 30 different formulas that I could whip up in a couple hours from inexpensive household chemicals that could make a 250T explosion when filling the trunk of a car) rocket motors, (when properly arranged and triggered) gasoline, (as an accelerant for arson) a car... I can list quite a few, (and some very obvious ones like the car) are you sure you want me to clutter up the thread with all of them? (tip: plain old flour can be used as a low-power fuel-air explosive in a contained area, and wouldn't be difficult or significantly suspect for an employee to set up in a school cafeteria) On the topic of avoiding the weapon, you can avoid a military grade firearm pretty easily by having 3 people in the room with handguns, all of whom return fire. Also, at very close range, (10 yards or less) 5.56mm NATO rounds fired from most rifles will do minimal damage to a person because they are moving too fast, and are too narrow. (they would have to manage to hit one of two extremely small target areas [brain stem or heart] to have any hope of killing someone, as medical support in the USA is very good) Also, automatic weapons are already banned, and I agree that those should be reserved for trained individuals, as they currently are. (military, militia, specific law enforcement sections like SWAT, and licensed individuals) Automatic weaponry is a completely different animal than a semi-auto, as it has massively different handling requirements and performance, or you can't hit shit with it. (it also eats ammo like crazy) And yes, poverty levels definitely have a lot to do with some violent gun crime, (it is a separate subsection of gun crimes in general, as gun crimes include illegal modifications, possession, concealment, transfer, etc.) but so far as I can find, has nothing at all to do with any mass shooting in US history. If you can find one, please let me know. (this means it was listed as part of the defined reasons someone used them, not just that the person was robbing a bank with a gun, or happened to have low/no income as a side note to their actual criminal intentions) I'm seriously considering posting a decidedly graphic (possibly forum-rules-breaking graphic) video of a medical lecture on firearm injuries... Nah, I don't want another ban.
  3. TES Creation Kit is remarkably easy to use and create with, the problem is that the engine is almost as buggy as the Source engine, and much harder to record frame-by-frame of a demo recording. (last I heard, it was not possible)
  4. No thanks. I watch neither, and want to watch neither. I have equally low opinions of both. Internet radio or satellite radio?
  5. Indifferent. (just an update to my halfway through the day word, which hasn't changed)
  6. Banned for assuming I'm assuming.
  7. I have both in spades.

  9. Why can't my phone just program itself? And why haven't game devs figured out how to use profanity symbols instead of ****?
  10. Star Trek Online... 2 days ago.
  11. Italian or chinese? You bring the wine.
  12. No it isn't, as the US government is gearing up in a way it never has before for a war with it's citizens. It is currently in the 'popular support' phase, where they try to get as many people as possible to give up their freedoms willingly, and get as many people as possible to support the removal of any restrictions on the government doing what it wants. Your statement implies that you think, that I think, that they wouldn't even make an attempt to hide the fact that they are turning into a totalitarian regime. (which is not even close to reality) I think we're well on the way towards one anyways, and the government does too. They're preparing to make either a first strike, or to make the most powerful counterstrike they can. If they make a first strike, they can blame it on intel they gathered from the NSA about a massive coordinated terrorist assault on the country. (the military would likely accept that reason for the first 3-6 months) If a counterstrike, they would probably bill it as a massive coordinated terrorist assault on the country, and implement martial law, then keep it in place 'to make sure they got all of the terrorists'. (we were very close to doing that right after 9/11)
  13. Yes, another good mic. (and expensive too... lol)
  14. One of the main problems with that assumption (which is untrue of a large portion of humans, typically called audiophiles) is that most people have never had audio equipment capable of performing most audio above 192k MP3 quality. (or for that matter ever hearing anything better than CD-A in an audio-only environment) Most PC sound cards need to be manually adjusted so they won't resample down to 16-bit/44.1kHz, and most of them have either cheap stereo speakers or really poor quality headphones. I, personally, can pick out the difference between any sample rate up to 96kHz at any bit depth, and at any sample rate determine the difference in bit depth. (I have the use of decent headphones, and have altered the quality settings for my sound card) It may seem like there's nothing in the extra area to those that can't or haven't had the equipment to perceive it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. For me personally, it can mean the difference between getting a headache after 3 hours of listening, and not getting a headache at all. Another problem is that many people will try to use a musical comparison, but use a version of the music that was designed for an audio CD, not for vinyl or DVD-A. (DVDs primarily use 24-bit 48kHz for movies now because a LOT of people CAN hear the difference, blu-rays even bottom out at 48kHz because of it) The problem with this is, many studios mix the studio masters down (called remastering) intentionally cutting out anything that can't be used by the intended format, so as to prevent distortions and noise. After it has been remastered for a CD, it won't matter what format you put it in, it will always sound the same as or worse than a CD. And the last reason I am going to put out here... Most people can't tell the difference, not because they can't percieve it, but because they don't recognize it for what it is. (kinda like a lot of people being told for a very long time that they couldn't percieve above 60Hz refresh rate on their monitors, but then slowly realizing that most COULD see a difference up to about 100Hz, and a few up above 120Hz) Recognition come through exposure, and most are never exposed long enough to recognize it. I am willing to continue to provide information on this subject if you would like, but I'd rather take it in a dedicated thread in the Serious Topic section. Just make a thread there, and I'll respond.
  15. Indifferent.
  16. Banned for assuming that to be a bad thing.
  17. Samurais. Hell's Bells or Highway to Hell?
  18. Eh... You can't possibly be as cursed as me... I get to be famous on a site, and everyone leaves. (excluding this site, as I'm already the most famous here apart from Ross himself, though not necessarily the most popular)
  19. My phone as it vibrates along my desk every time it has to restart.
  20. ASUS, why did you make your phone so damn hard to manually update? Forcing me to completely wipe the phone, unbrick it, try 3 different ways to install it, and then re-root the thing is not pleasant. Other than that, it's a great phone. lol
  21. The thing is, if you're in the US, 90% of those accidents happen in heavy traffic and on major roadways. Very few involve motorcycles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_safety#Accident_rates You'd have to be very unlucky to be in an accident, unless you are breaking the rules of the road, or drunk. (I think you're both smart and lucky enough to avoid that, even if you do decide to sit in rush hour traffic on your motorcycle) _____________________________________________________________________ OT: Reinstalling everything on my phone. Had to completely wipe the phone to unbrick it after a firmware update failed, then force install the update that failed, (had to try 3 different ways before I found one that worked) and now I just finished rooting it again. Now to reinstall all my pirated apps, and emulators. (I know I've lost my save games already)
  22. Not bad at all. (this rating would be the equivalent of 8.5/10 or higher)
  23. Don't write it with me in mind. Honestly, make it real... Something that actually makes sense happening in real life without requiring ANY stretch of the imagination. If there is even the slightest bit of unreality to it, it won't work. (unless you build an entire universe in the story, one where the story's reality fits perfectly)
  24. YAY for having to completely wipe my phone and reinstall everything because I wanted the latest firmware update.
