First off, the USA was the only country to land a person on the moon, however treaties forbid any earth-based country from claiming the moon. Companies would have to go through so much red tape to get there, and then finance it, that it would be infeasible for anything short of a megacorp, and they wouldn't see the initial investment pay off fast enough to justify doing it.

In short, it wouldn't happen for a very long time, even if it was lucrative. Probly won't happen until easily reusable reentry and space transport vehicles are invented.

New motherboard + faster RAM is cheaper than just the RAM for your old moboard by a significant amount.

Sounds good. Bear in mind the number of really cool additional weapons in SMOD, including the banana bomb that you get at the beginning of the airboat section. (and the laser gun that PWNs everything)

You will want to upgrade the motherboard first, since [email protected] is really expensive, and really slow. (it'll be a bottleneck even before the CPU, possibly it is already and you just don't realize it) Also, M-ITX is an incredibly small form factor for a 'gaming' computer, I recommend nothing smaller than Micro-ATX. (it might even be cheaper to get a new moboard + new RAM than just the new RAM for that old moboard)

There is another explanation for the lack of attention, and borderline disassociation with reality: Low blood sugar. It can happen to anyone, and since he supposedly has been without food for days, it would make perfect sense for him to not make perfectly logical decisions.

Look it up, the original SMOD was for pre-2007 HL2, and basically cracked open the DLLs for an impressive control over almost everything. You can even easily add your own weapons that shoot cluster fragmentary grenades at machinegun rates if you want.

SMOD Standalone basically updates it to do the same for the latest versions of HL2, forward compatible.
