You will want to upgrade the motherboard first, since 8GB@800MHz is really expensive, and really slow. (it'll be a bottleneck even before the CPU, possibly it is already and you just don't realize it) Also, M-ITX is an incredibly small form factor for a 'gaming' computer, I recommend nothing smaller than Micro-ATX. (it might even be cheaper to get a new moboard + new RAM than just the new RAM for that old moboard)

There is another explanation for the lack of attention, and borderline disassociation with reality: Low blood sugar. It can happen to anyone, and since he supposedly has been without food for days, it would make perfect sense for him to not make perfectly logical decisions.

Look it up, the original SMOD was for pre-2007 HL2, and basically cracked open the DLLs for an impressive control over almost everything. You can even easily add your own weapons that shoot cluster fragmentary grenades at machinegun rates if you want. SMOD Standalone basically updates it to do the same for the latest versions of HL2, forward compatible.

Good lasers for cheap are remarkable easy to come by, it's the safety glasses for use with lasers that are hard to find.

Cold... If it gets too cold, it starts to feel warm again, and you just gently slip off to a painless lasting sleep. If it's too hot, you eventually start to feel cold, and perceive a massive amount of pain, have uncoordinated painful movements, then a painful death.
