I could do with a vacation from the large social outlets such as facebook, youtube comments(see previous rants) and tumblr.

FYI, there was a medical study a while back that associated social media use with massively increased stress, and stress-related afflictions risk. (eg. heart attack, hypertension, depression, excessive anger, etc.)

I thoroughly recommend a break every now and then from just about everything. (everything in moderation, it's a good philosophy for anyone)

I personally dislike most beers... They tend to either not have enough flavor or not enough alcohol, or both. There are a rare few extremely dark homemade beers that I enjoy, but I have never found a beer that you would be able to buy in the store that I would willingly have more than 3 bottles of per day. (and never more than 2 days of it per week)

Prison until you are past the average retirement age without any training, or being disallowed any form of computer access for life? (there would be a person assigned to check on a daily basis for computer interactions, and you'd be tortured for days then released if you touched a computer)

Remarkably fun... Sometimes I still have to shake my head at the fact that most modern games still can't compete with the stuff that has SNES-era graphics for gameplay.

That's what I was trying to get across when I said that this sounded perfectly normal from all the stories I've heard.

So modern weapons (made by the US, no less) are completely useless against modern body armor? I'm generally curious as to how that works.

Armor and weapons always work in a trade-off cycle... Think of it like this...

We're in the better armor section, and in the process of coming up with better weapons.
