Check and see if you have mouse acceleration on, and if you're using hardware mouse cursor, or software mouse cursor. (disable acceleration, enable hardware cursor) Also might want to check on the render-ahead settings... Dropping it to 1 frame advance rendering should increase response rate. (might be listed as pre-rendered frames, or number of frames rendered in advance)
