The video game"Halo" takes place in 2049
-
2049 - The very earliest and possible response signal from the Gliese 581 vicinity, should there be one by intelligent extraterrestrial life, will be received. A signal was transmitted to the Gliese 581 vicinity in August 2009, taking about 20.3 years to reach its destination. The present "One country, two systems" with Macau, guaranteed for 50 years starting from December 20, 1999 provided under the Basic Law, will expire. The video game"Halo" takes place in 2049.

1. A copy of one of the three-letter government agencies databases doesn't qualify as entirely legal in my book. 2. That's your decision to make, regardless of fact.

Functional androids/gynoids in our lifetime?
BTGBullseye replied to Seattleite's topic in Free-For-All
Stairs are easy for the military four legged version, but that's because they designed it for extreme terrain. ASIMO wasn't mainly designed for going up/down stairs... Batteries are the way to go, unless you want something extremely noisy and hot running in your android at all times. -
Ok, have fun setting it up! If you could, please get an image of your Earthsiege 2 disk, and either upload it yourself, or send it to me so I can upload it... There is at least 1 other person that wants it. (and 3-4 others if my torrent client was to be believed)

Try making a disk image, and using VirtualBox to run a copy of Win98... You can download VB from https://www.virtualbox.org/ and Win98 from https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4278733/Microsoft_Windows_98_SE_-_For_VirtualBox___Team_ZOiT

Which one? Have you tried running in a VM? (I have to since I'm running 64-bit)

Usually has very similar descriptions to my own of the good parts of users above in this thread. -
Yeah, parents not controlling their children in public is not a good thing. I didn't run into anyone when I was a kid, but then again I was weird.

Functional androids/gynoids in our lifetime?
BTGBullseye replied to Seattleite's topic in Free-For-All
I'll tell you something, I have heard directly from several of the higher-ups in the Catholic church, and they think that androids are cool, and would love to see them happen. So it's not where any of the religious scruples are coming from. They're working on the AI right now, (most of the improvements are coming from Google) and the mechanics are already here... The power supply isn't as easy as you might think, since it would probly require a lot more than you might think. (also something they're working on) Safety precautions were developed by Isaac Asimov, and are already being integrated into current AI experiments. Voice and face recognition is still far from ideal for this, but it's improving very rapidly. (again, most of the improvements are coming from Google) Navigation is already developed, and Google has the technology in development to make it easily available to the masses. Convincing personalities will come when the full AI arrives. (just teach it a general bland personality, and let it expand on it by watching videos) -
https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/10238320/Earthsiege There... I have now got the images up. One of the best series I've ever played, especially when you include the Cyberstorm and Tribes series that take place in the same 'universe'. I don't remember if I've got them working in Windows 7, but I know it took nothing to get them running in XP. [EDIT] The Earthsiege 2 disk got corrupted, and so did the image... I'm trying to repair it's image since the disk probly is kaput.

I have both the original, and the second game disks right now... I'll put disk images up on my TPB account when I get the chance.

Thinking on possible ways to reduce the cost of my Dad's new PC build... I came up with a small list of parts, and have managed to keep the price around $515, but that's pretty expensive for our current income.

2047 - A METI message called Teen Age Message sent from the 70-meter Eupatoria Planetary Radar will arrive at its destination, 47 UMa star. The present "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong may end, as it was guaranteed for 50 years starting from July 1, 1997, provided under the Hong Kong Basic Law. The agreement was raised by Deng Xiaoping to deal with Hong Kong's reunification with the People's Republic of China in 1997, and stipulated in the Sino-British Joint Declaration of 1984. What will be done is not stated in any document. 2 total lunar eclipses will take place this year. After this year, works published between January 1, 1978 and December 31, 2002 have the possibility of entering the public domain in the United States. U.S. copyright law specifically prohibits any work created during that period from automatically entering the public domain before this date.
