  1. Had an ear infection, but because I was in a government funded facility that was supposed to teach me a trade (which I actually knew more about than the teacher, he even said so after 3 weeks of me proving it) it took 3 days before the teacher let me out of class to get it looked at. (the medical center on-campus wouldn't let me out of class long enough to get it looked at) When I finally got to the center after the teacher sent me there, I sat and waited for another hour for a doctor. Turned out the nurses hadn't even bothered telling the doctor that I was there, so I just sat until a doctor walked by. He asked if I was being treated or not, then took me into another room to give me a topical pain treatment as a temporary fix until I could get looked at properly. Took a month to get rid of the infection since it moved to the other ear, and then tried to move back. It also nearly perforated my ear drums, and I'm now a bit more hard of hearing. (in addition to my tinnitus) The nurse that didn't tell the doctor that I was waiting got fired the day after I went in. Whatever you do, don't ever get an ear infection at a Job Corps. (the government funded facility in question, located in Salt Lake City)
  2. I don't know.
  3. I guess my whole argument comes down to, if you've never used a gun in your life, you have no right to make any decisions concerning them. I f the best you can come up with is statistics, you're no better than a government entity that doesn't really care about the lives involved. I was recently in contact with a friend of my sister, her husband had a revolver in the house for defensive purposes, but it ended up killing her 3 year old... Know what she said about it? She wishes she had kept closer watch on her kid. That's all. She doesn't blame the gun, she doesn't blame her husband. (now ex for other reasons) How would you respond to her opinion that guns shouldn't be legislated against? I was also talking to another friend from one of the bad gang neighborhoods in Phoenix, AZ (she moved away from those neighborhoods years ago) and has had 1 brother, and both parents killed by guns. She's not anti-gun, even though she's never owned one. She also thinks gun laws are stupid, though she used significantly more colorful terms in describing the futility of making laws concerning people that don't obey any laws. What is your response to her position?
  4. So you're saying that Americans with guns are more civilized than Brits... I agree.
  5. Unfortunately the complete lack of weapons in these kind of games renders it pointless to me. In a similar situation in real life, any intelligent person would find SOMETHING to defend themselves with...
  6. Do you have even the remotest of proof of that? Vermont has the most guns per-capita in the US, and people there don't have to have a concealed carry permit to carry concealed weapons... It also has the lowest crime rate per-capita in the world. (in every category)
  7. "I hate BSODs."
  8. Yes, and you still haven't said anything about the fact that a person with a gun is a lot less likely to be killed or attacked by any criminal.
  9. "WHAT THE FUCK! A weak little 'sorry doctor Freeman'?!? I could have DIED! That was a 30 foot drop in a makeshift car that HAS NO AIRBAGS! AND WHERE ARE ALL THESE DAMN BUGS COMING FROM!?!" He's being hunted by the Striders in C17...
  10. If it's the old recipes, Coke... (after the Cocaine was removed of course) New recipes, neither. I'd rather get the Big K brand cola. (tastes like the old recipe Coke) If you were a pizza, what toppings would you have?
  11. Falling asleep... Hopefully...
  12. Actually, I wouldn't consider either to fall into the electronic genre... Or even all that close. (classic rock is always classic rock even if it has elements that started the electronic genre) Sounds way too different. Not bad music though...
  13. Good to hear.
  14. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-04-24/u-k-gun-curbs-mean-more-violence-yet-fewer-deaths-than-in-u-s-.html UK you're less likely to be killed in an attack, just maimed and hurt real bad... Not to mention the fact that you're about 3x more likely to have a violent encounter in the UK as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate And now according to both of these links, despite unbelievably strict gun control laws, you still have firearms killing people. (people without guns die a lot easier than people with guns)
  15. Exactly, hence the dilemma about interference...
  16. Because they are as close to no DRM as it gets without actually going to no DRM. They don't embed stuff that requires a constant internet connection for single player gameplay, they provide personal connectivity, they encourage modding stuff, they are the only company trying to port over previously Windows-only games to Linux, they don't ban you when you replace the executable of the game you're playing with one that takes away the need for Steam to run the game, and they are just generally really cool guys. (or girls, whatever the case may be) Pizza or lasagna?
  17. Waking up... Maybe...
  18. How? And this is news since when? Cuba went for 49 years of tyranny under Castro because the rest of the world wasn't affected enough to do anything about it... There are countries in the world who are being systematically dismantled by their leadership without the country even knowing. (Greece is a good example) Background checks in the USA to get guns are more thorough than the background checks to become royal guards in England. Unfortunately the US government has found a way to get around our rights many times, but people are lazy right now... They want safety, but don't want to give up the freedoms required for that safety. (disclaimer: I don't want the safety, I would be perfectly happy in the wild west or the Frontier) The lack of freedom is what the government wants, so they have the media subverted to help show them in the best light, and to help spread fear. (you might want to watch the movie V for Vendetta to see an extrapolation of what the people in power will do once they have fear on their side, or just look at the PATRIOT act that passed without opposition because people were afraid of another attack on the US) Guns don't keep the government in check when people are unwilling to fight for their rights because they're afraid of something that the government is supposedly protecting them from. And I do mean supposedly, I can put a small explosive device in every civilian plane in the country without being noticed, and detonate them without ever being caught. (I just need a good reason and the explosives themselves, neither of which will ever occur) Security overseas is an even bigger joke since I know how (haven't done it, and probly won't) to move nuclear weapons, and other banned weaponry through their airports without being caught. You feel safe without a gun... Give me your address, and I'll come over and break your legs without using a gun, and won't have any fear of you using a gun to defend yourself. (it's about the only thing I can think of that would be able to stop me)
  19. Isn't a member, but probly has several...
  20. There is none. First I'd have to be a girl, then I'd have to become far less inhibited sexually, then have to actually like a "feminine" song. "Glass half full" or "glass half empty"?
  21. "I'm listening, but I don't understand a word you're saying..."
  22. "I KNEW IT!!! DIE YOU MOTHERS!!!" He suddenly appears in the depository behind the guy that's going to assassinate Kennedy...
  23. i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2^i2
  24. A game where you carry around a child who's carrying a gun with only one round in it, and you have to bounce it off as many targets as possible... Bonus for shooting yourself after hitting all other targets. Flotilla.
  25. Banned for implying that none of us have any class when I obviously am so classy as to be able to outclass anyone in any way that requires being me.
