They have a reputation of burning up instead of auto-shutting down like they're supposed to if you start overheating them. Slow slight increment increases in speeds, and don't let it exceed 75c. Might also want to take off the stock heatsink and replace the stock thermal grease with some better stuff, like Prolimatech PK-1. (or PK-2 or PK-3, PK-3 is the best) You could also look into an aftermarket heatsink. (like this one: Prolimatech MK-13

I'm not very experienced with D&D, but I have been a DM/GM for Shadowrun... (basically a more realistic, albeit futuristic version of D&D) I have almost a year's worth of making up missions on-the-fly with little or no prep. Longest prep time I ever did was sitting and thinking for about 10 minutes during a mission, and came up with a full campaign. (never got around to doing the campaign due to people leaving/graduating) The technical side of the two games is very similar, and I would be willing to help in any way you wish.
