    Nope

You think the forums is on life support?

No, I don't think any life support machine has the network connectivity required to host this forum.

    Should I edit this question?

Considering the legal issues HBS and Piranha games had with Harmony Gold it's not surprising to me they didn't touched those IPs, don't know much about these titles tbh but from the images that I've seen, Earthsige alone would be easily sued by them if they ever tried to bring those mechs back.

I don't see how Earthsiege could be sued over anything, as they had entirely unique HERC designs so that they couldn't be sued back when the original Mechwarrior game was their only competition...

Armored Core and Battletech being the only ones I can think of in recent years

It's sad that most of the good IPs ended up in the hands of companies that make such poor decisions with them. Kinda like the Earthsiege/Cyberstorm/Tribes IP being exclusive to Hi-Rez Studios, but they've never touched on the Earthsiege or Cyberstorm side of it. (and kinda messed up the Tribes side too)

Yeah, GTA is just as addicting, and can ruin your life just as much. "I'll sell you my left kidney for 10 more minutes..."

And then every subsequent main series GTA game set the bar higher and higher

And now Rockstar is milking 5 for all it's worth, because they think multiplayer is the only way forward. (it isn't)

Well, the important thing is to not lose access to it. It does not matter than nobody can't see the game's code for the next two centuries. What matters is that copy of the code is in hands of some institution which has obligation to keep it around.

And if it can't be used or seen by anyone for 200 years, there's no point. That is what the lobbyists will argue, and what everyone will agree with. It's either throw away code, or get past the lobbyists that are pushing for more and more rights for the legal monopoly crowd.

That's neat that they went into the effort of looking for alternatives to Adobe's subscription service. However, at the end of it all, they still stuck with Adobe's subscription because there wasn't something comparably efficient to Adobe's interconnected app ecosystem.

Hopefully , other editing software developers will take note from that critique and aim to challenge Adobe in that area, as well.

    That's my hope as well.
