ME2 was designed to be followed by ME3, they already had the story made for it. ME3 was supposed to be the end, and the ending reflects that very well IMO.

Agreed. It isn't the best, but it definitely isn't anywhere near bad enough for any serious reduction of ratings. I've seen much higher rated & hyped games get better ratings with absolutely horrible endings.

It's the difference between a level with a texture of something in an odd position on a wall, and a level with a an object set against the wall in a logical manner. It's an increase in detail without losing the wider picture, and it does look to be extremely fun if they ever finish it.
