  1. Some interesting takes on this, but the fact was that he interfered because it was a distress call, and those take precedence over the Prime Directive. Once the emergency had been taken care of, (the people from the ship retrieved) he had to do his best to put the genie back in the bottle. (not easy mind you) Sadly, in this case, that meant effectively dooming both planets, as he could not interfere to help either side, including not being able to tell the addicts that it wasn't plague related. If you pay close attention, he really wanted to help the addicts, but to do so would actually be a major infraction of the Prime Directive.

    Seems you may have started off with a false interpretation for your analysis.

    I'd still like to see more of this though.

    Nope. It would have been a giant flop.

    There's no way the amiga would have been able to support an infinite amount of stars the way no man sky promised (and remember the position of each one of them, so you in theory could go back and even have other players visit them).

    If the seed was a stored string, and event progression was also stored as a string, then it easily could have using less than a kilobyte of "permanently" stored data.

    Stay safe buddy! And don't forget to maintain a proper social distance from the Mold! 👻

    Colorado just issued a state of emergency yesterday, and a stay at home order. It was kinda creepy, the gov. sent an active alert to my smartphone. Sorta like an amber/silver kind of alert, with the loud mayday sound, it was a bit harrowing and notable first in my lifetime.

    These are strange and "interesting" times indeed...

    Yup. Everything is officially shut down here. I actually got last night's alert while waiting for Pizza to arrive.

    So you were able to get your max download but not your max upload, and now you don't get the max of both? That's a bitch!

    More like Comcast no longer advertises the upload speeds at all because they don't allow anything higher than 15Mbps on ANY of their residential plans.

    As of right now, I'm getting 360/12.

  5. Well, I'm now getting 300/7 internet on speedtests... Same upload as I had before, but 4x the download... I'd hapily sacrifice half the download to double the upload, but Comcast won't allow that.

    [EDIT] Switched out the rental modem for my permanent modem, (had to wait for it to be removed from my parent's old account) and now I'm getting closer to 200/12. To many people that may seem like a downgrade, but it most definitely is not.

    I guess there aren't a lot of programing shops in your vicinity then ( because they need a high upload bandwidth for synching the code files all the time)

    Business internet is seperate from home internet. Comcast won't supply business internet to residential addresses.

    Woo! 18,000th post!

    Ouch, yeah...
    Wait, 300/15? it's ADSL? why have they gone back to using that instead of normal DSL?

    Cable. They do that because they have a monopoly, and this is part of how they "combat file sharers".

    moving where? will you have internet connection there too eventually?

    Actually, I'll have better internet tomorrow than I have ever had. 4x better than what I previously had, all because I moved in-town. Unfortunately this antire general area is a Comcast monopoly zone, so I have to pay $100/mo for 300/15 internet.

    I've recently implemented lots of stuff, mostly behind the scenes to make the codebase less ugly. Main changes:

    • more consistent typography;
    • nicer layout and navigation on mobile, much less of an afterthought;
    • improvements for readability.

    Cool, thanks. :)
