I don't have this problem at all, with mkv, mp4, avi, anything. Even when I turn "drop late frames" function back on. 0 lost frames on suckerpunch 720p mkv that's running in the background right now (20 minutes or so).

 

Does your card have a forced v-sync setting? If that's on, it's likely the reason.

V-sync doesn't affect the frame loss, and yes the program still registers 0 frame loss. Doesn't mean that the program is right.

MPC has always beat out VLC on all of my systems. (and I have a large selection to try it on)

Unless for some obscure reason he ended up with a shotgun which required voice-authentication from the user.
