  1. it is a good idea

    -rep for those 5 words.

Reading comprehension? Never heard of it? Too bad. If you had bothered to read the full post or even look at the bill objectively, you'd see that endangering video game content is not the intention of this bill, but is due to its wording, the bill in and of itself is a good idea, but it needs to be more precise in wording, for it is intended to apply to illegal streaming of copyrighted content like movies and TV shows, not video games, and so I proposed revising the bill, but you didn't read that, you only read up to those 5 words and instantly decided to make a judgement call.

All of that is already illegal, so why do we need another bill that says that illegal things are illegal, especially when it's way too broad?

  2. You really have to be kidding. Even running a PS2 emulator on great gaming PCs will work on only roughly half of the PS2 library, and even those will have video and audio glitches abound. There's also the fact that Xbox couldn't handle emulation of PS2 games at any playable framerate. That's not a comparison of the hardware of the two systems, it's a fact about the downfall of emulators. Anyway, you're taking console hacks into account when evaluating how good a console is?

The PS2 was a great console by the way. I don't really get what you have against it, or if you're just trolling, as you very often do.

No console hacks required for the emulators, and I could literally play EVERY PS2 game released at normal framerates. Just have to have a big HDD for the Xbox, and download decent PS2 game rips. If we're including console hacks, then Xbox had the PS2 beat there too... One little chip replacement, and you could do anything a PC could do. (including installing WinXP)

Original Xbox had barely any good exclusives, come to think of it Halo was the only good one; and that was on PC as well. I have a PS3 and I enjoy it, but it doesn't compare to the epic games like Ico on the PS2.

I thought this was about the consoles, not the games... If I'm mistaken, please tell me.

And notice BTG that it says IMO, it's my opinion. You seem to miss that on every friggen' post I make.

Every post is always an opinion, never said it wasn't.

  3. Ion Storm after they took too many stupid pills and made Invisible war.

Not everyone thinks that IW was a detriment to the DX series...

I was planning on torrenting a copy of the first two Thief games, now I probly will...

  4. I've done a little more research into the formats...

For a computer only 'HQ version' MKV/MP4 is best, with x264 (lossless mode) and any lossless audio codec. (FLAC, MPEG-4 ALS, MPEG-4 SLS, etc.)

For other devices, MP4 with Xvid and AAC or AC3 audio.

I use VLC...everyone should use it IMO

You've never tried Media Player Classic have you... It beats VLC any day.

H.264 is the most supported format out there. It's used by Blu-ray, European HDTV, Apple, Youtube, pirates… if, in 2011, someone distributes a video player incapable of playing H.264, that man should be shot. Period.

This shows how little you really know about existing devices and their capabilities. Not everyone has the newest top-of-the-line devices. I even happen to have tested various settings of an x264 encoded video on an iPod of my nephew's; most of the higher compression settings don't play. The x264 codec supporting devices are usually not cheap, this is another problem with using x264 to the exclusion of other formats. Claiming it as 'the most supported format' is outright ignorance.

  5. why would you email google?

that's like emailing disney because you had a problem with one of the shows on ABC

    Youtube is owned by Google.

Still, why are everyone such prudes when it comes to 'illegal' videos? If it ain't a full copyrighted movie or porn, what the fuck does it matter?

  6. I'm sorry but MAD is Mad and I'm fucknig serious.

You are assuming everyone thinks like you do.

That is the only thing that keeps the insane people from pushing buttons.

Sane people on the other hand will push the button because it's too painful not to.

  7. Um, ordinary games would be civilization, red alert, half life's... Um, graphical wonders would be, well, um, I can't think of any examples. Games that have subscription costs and people spend every waking minute of every day playing them.

Then my design is a perfect fit for you.

I've given the build-your-own more thought. I know that I won't be able to do this on my own. But I think I'll give it a shot, maybe get some more help, find a guide....

Here are a few ok guides to start the process:

    Install the motherboard and CPU

    Install your RAM

Install the hard drive and DVD drive

Don't hesitate to ask here for help...

  8. I'm in the story, winning a lot of cash at the poker table... I'm fine with just sitting there eating, drinking, and not gambling. I don't care enough to look for the million, but I'm immune to most forms of poison and can survive what would kill normal people.

Keep those points in mind when continuing the story.

  9. Well, to be fair with everyone, when I approach the 666th post, I'll make a thread about it and everyone who posts there will have a chance to get the game... It will be The Great Accursed Farms Lottery :D
