Harsh, but some good points made.
Agreed... +rep.

I've been in some Star Trek RPG's, though they were mostly in-person games, not online.
I find in-person games infinitely preferable, as online there's always some guy who wants to be "Captain combined clone of Kirk and Picard and Sisko, commanding the USS Fist of Doom from the future of the Mirror Universe with 50 quantum torpedo tubes and Type LXVIII Phasers and Uberphasic shielding with Multi-Vector Assault mode and 5000 marines aboard."
So the last time I encountered that, I was like "FINE. You encounter a Borg/Shadow/Cylon Fleet of 186,000 cubes. You die. Next player!"
There was one guy that i saw on another site that was that sort once... I said something similar to what you said, except it was a Q battle fleet. (I know, I know... Still, if they ever made a fleet, it would be impossible to beat, right?)
They usually don't try making their roles invincible after that...

Good pre-morning... I'm going to not-awake.

The shaky cam put me off.
What shaky cam?

One day God gazed upon the people of Earth who were starting to play Civilization while eating popcorn. He gleefully said "DELETE THIS THREAD!"

While I'm not at all a "believer" in that idea of capitalism I feel tempted to play devils advocate here. I think the most common reply to arguments of that kind are that since every company will want to take advantage of this cheap labor they'll all move there and the competition for workers will start "driving up" salaries which will eventually make the difference between the two countries much smaller (or non-existent).
I have yet to see any pay increase reports concerning any non-American workforce that produces goods/services for America-based companies/markets...

I seriously doubt this will affect anything except how we view the war. (that is if he's really dead, and the body they have isn't just another lookalike)
I personally don't give a shit, since Osama never could have done anywhere near as much damage to the USA as Obama already has...

Since we're getting a bit more specific as to our historical roles, I'll post mine.

I am the final captain of the USS Excalibur, registry number NCC-26517. Recently refitted to carry 10 pulse phasers, 3 quantum torpedo launchers, and a dual generator/layer transphasic shield array. Also has a few tweaks to the engines that increases the maximum warp speed from 9.85 to 9.92, and the stability of the warp field by 12.8%.
Before that I was an elite special forces commando for Starfleet, after being woken up from a long-endurance stasis test. (started in the year 2013) Conquests include obliterating a Borg Sphere with a 3 man infiltration team, extracting several high ranking officials from Wolf 359 during the Borg invasion, and assisting in the development of several pieces of experimental personal equipment. (all of which I wear on my person anytime I leave my quarters) My neural pattern was imprinted on an experimental AI computer, through some weird coincidence the computer came pre-infected with a virus that corrupted the imprint, turning it into the perfect female (from my point of view that is) that loved me exclusively. (the AI core was later installed on my experimental Captain's Yacht, refitted onto the Excalibur during the latest refit)

I could easily get far more detailed, but I don't want to at this time. Also, no; I have never been on any Star Trek oriented forum.

Just finished watching the newest Star Trek again... Still wondering why no other modern movies care as much about their extensive CGI.

I can disassemble you in -0.000000000001 nanoseconds with a time machine...

Meh, I say it's all worth it. They've produced a lot of DLC for free, and charged for others. They made it, they deserve to be compensated for it.
True, but not this much for this little...

Anarchy is abolition of the state, I believe. There is no government.
I put Anarchy in there for the sake of completion; I didn't expect anyone to actually vote for it.
Anarchy has to be one of the worst ideas ever. In anarchy, the individual is subject to anyone who desires to initiate force against him. It's the rule of the jungle. The use of retaliatory force is no longer in objective hands; in Anarchy, if a man loses his wallet and suspects it's stolen, he can shoot the first man who looks at him funny. The use of force is placed in the hands of individuals who use on on whim. A society needs a government to properly function, because people will always have honest disagreements; the role of the government is just to make retaliatory force objective.
You need to start reading the whole post instead of seeing the word "Anarchist" and immediately assuming my beliefs to be something they aren't.
Go read the book I mentioned and quit assuming.
Or better yet, read this: http://dwrighsr.tripod.com/heinlein/RatAnarch/

I don't even know why Michael here says "We", I am Ukrainian for that matter.
He's saying "we" as in USA residents.
I think Axeldeath makes a valid point... It is extremely unfortunate that the world sees only that terrible side of what we do. The people that don't like us will point to the worst that we do and the worst people we have, and say that that is the normal in our country. (the people that never liked us are numerous and powerful enough to sway almost the entire rest of the world's opinion against us)

I just checked it, 65 amps at 15.4 or 30.8 volts. I was thinking of the small personal tents, not the giant basecamp tents.
A dozen generators on a single human joint? Would kind of impede the functioning of the joint. I don't buy this. Show me even a half-dozen of these generators working simultaneously on someone's knee, and I'll take it back.It hasn't been done because it's expensive to do.
The total size of a 12 generator array (if designed/arranged properly) is less than 1/4 inch by 1/8 inch. How much resistance do you think that could produce? (capacitors would take up a static 1/4" x 1/4" location connected solely by wires)

Still, ross might want to fix or remove those links.
Yeah, and and it might be good to add the torrent to the download page too...

My only experience of forum-role-playing was a rather long time ago, and it involved people God-modding and flame wars.
Same as my experience with it.
I was always a peacemaker role, so I have no trouble seeing arguments and their motives from both sides. (I got my fill of peacemaking from that experience though so now I just don't care most of the time)

Wow... Only after he says he's feeling better do they post their "don't suicide" messages... lol
Anyone willing to pay my transportation costs to get me over to the middle-east so I can get some combat experience before I die? (yes, I like to be self destructive when I have enough money to be self destructive)

@Kirk
That is actually some of the worst, not the normal.

I can disassemble my PC & peripherals in about 4 min, then reassemble them in 3 min.

Would be nice if he was though.
That part I agree with... He's cool enough for video games.

I have yet to have any forum issues since the site got moved...
I may be a mod on another forum, but this is the forum I'm most active on.
[EDIT] Would be nice to change the URL links to have underlined text as a default...
