  1. I don't think there should be an arguments section, nor a 'Scientific' section.

I think you misread his post...

Basically all he was saying was to add a debate section, and move the debate threads into that section.

I'm for it, would likely reduce clutter.

  2. I have yet to see anyone read through one of my posts without saying that I'm just wanting creation only in schools... Not what I'm getting at at all.

Gravity is a law, not a theory anymore. Atomics are no longer theories either. Evolution is a theory.

I'm trying to say merely that the teaching of Evolution as a fact is outright wrong, and just as wrong as teaching that any religion is fact. Every school I've been to, or knew someone who went there has taught Evolution as fact, and that is a blatant disrespect for science. (a true science lover will have absolutely no issue with letting it remain a theory, and be taught as such, until conjectureless proof arises)

What would you accept as proof?

Something that requires no conjecture to support Evolution.

  3. that would be like trying to convince me that black is white

Black is white at a significantly lower intensity.

If you're talking about skin tone I have an argument for that as well... You probly don't want to see it though.

My view is based on the view as man as a rational being. This is congruent with the real world.

What is your definition of "rational", and what does that have to do with rights? (also, what percentage of the world's population fit into that "rational" definition?)

  4. Wait a moment. Are you suggesting that, without real-time eyewitnesses, there's NO WAY to know what happened in the past?

Why is everyone focusing on just the 'Video or time machine" section and completely ignoring the part that says "or something that PROVES it without extensive conjecture"? So far all I've seen is a lot of conjecture, and no proof.

The Earth was formed by material from the accretion disk coalescing

Where's the proof? Sure it seems plausible, but it is still just conjecture.

    Internal heat (caused by pressure)

[sarcasm] Yeah, that can't possibly have come from any other source, only pressure... [/sarcasm]

    Still no proof...

Over time, organic material formed and began to grow and divide, forming the most primitive life. That life eventually evolved until we are here.

This is all backed up with literal mountains of evidence.

So where is the proof? Even having a fossil that to a cursory inspection seems to support your beliefs doesn't prove that it was anything but a single entity, and has no evidence showing that there was ever more than one of them.

I await anything but the loads of conjecture you've been labeling as fact.

PS: I think "conjecture" is going to be my new favorite word for use in this thread, it's a perfect description for all the origin theories.

  5. It's known well that the some very mature people sometimes act immature purely for the enjoyment of it; it's just the nature of the individual. Just as long as you don't make it a habit of being immature, I say do something retarded with your equally retarded buddies every now and again. And also, full-time stupid/immature people were put on this Earth merely for the entertainment and amusement of us well-raised, superior, intulekshual peeplez. We just have to put them in their places when they get out of hand; but that's easier said than done, as we all know.

(And to prevent internet thread confusion; I'm being facetious).

    +rep

How are you expecting to prevent confusion with the word facetious?

  6. @BTGBullseye

You would make a great skeptic.

I try... I am skeptical of anything that people say is a fact when they refuse to provide proof.

Also, you forgot the part where kookaburra is just mad and insulting because you're turning a rational eye to his dogma.

I don't like saying things like that because it is usually misconstrued as a flame or an attempt to provoke a flame war... Unfortunate isn't it...

@BTGBullseye The reason diamond is so precious is because it literally takes them pressure of entire mountains to compress coal into diamonds, even though it is made of carbon it requires very special circumstances for the diamond to be of a large size

I know that, and that's the reason it was in the analogy. (BTW, I even know a process to make diamonds artificially)

    @Koockaburra101:

You still haven't shown me any proof of your claims...

  7. I think it's better to let it die so I can stop feeling embarressingly stupid whenever I read it.

But that's why it should be stickied...

To sum it up, I can be an ass on occassion because of stress.

That is true of us all, no shame in that at all.

  8. Ha-ha! You can wind a watch with human-generated kinetic energy. You'll never be able to power a tank with it.

You have no idea how much power that generator produces... Put a dozen of them on a single joint and you can power a cellphone. (you wouldn't even be able to feel the resistance from the generators either due to the extremely low mass of the whole system)

The US military already has solar tents, though, with collectors that generate 2 kilowatts of power per tent. Not huge, but enough to recharge stuff like night-vision equipment, cell phones, and other tools. means less batteries/generators carried in the field.

2KW is like running 20x 100-watt light bulbs, that's more than most households use... (and frequently more than the household fusebox can handle) I think you're missing a decimal point in front of that 2 there.
